{"id":384,"date":"2019-05-10T17:51:26","date_gmt":"2019-05-10T17:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/katie.legace\/?p=384"},"modified":"2019-05-10T17:51:26","modified_gmt":"2019-05-10T17:51:26","slug":"may-10-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/katie.legace\/2019\/05\/10\/may-10-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"May 10, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TO DO: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some important dates for you to know as you plan for the 19-20 school year:  Our <strong>District SIW dates <\/strong>for next year are:  <strong>Oct 9, Nov 13, Feb 12 and March 11.<\/strong>  We are looking to schedule a <strong>Safety Training-Discussion for HS Administrators on August 14<\/strong> and our <strong>Leadership Retreat<\/strong> will be scheduled for <strong>August 20<\/strong>.  Plan on all members of your <strong>Administrative Team AND your ICCL Team<\/strong> members attending this <strong>August 20 training with Mary Ehrenworth<\/strong>.  This day will kick off the 2nd Annual <strong>Innovation Conference August 21 and 22.<\/strong>    There are so many outstanding practices our teachers could be sharing with other teachers!  Please encourage your teachers to apply to present a session at the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/17hz-C-8SStdgJ6ynvrdUSjovWbhJbIgN\/view?usp=sharing\">Innovation Conference<\/a>!  Please register on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/bend.truenorthlogic.com\/U\/P\/Tab\/Home?_ct=Home\" target=\"_blank\"> Performance Matters<\/a>* to join us at this exciting event.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in our <strong>March for Teachers<\/strong> Wednesday!  Your help with the water and scooping ice cream was terrific!  I am proud of the way our community supported our district&#8217;s positive approach to advocating for K-12 funding!  It was an inspiring way for us to show our <strong>unified support for our students<\/strong>!  I appreciate you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a reminder about the<strong> Process for selecting Valedictorian and Salutatorian:<\/strong>   Our district practice is for the high schools to announce the Val and  Sal for their schools on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend \u2013 this  year that is <strong>May 24. <\/strong> A couple of weeks prior to May  24, principals should ask each teacher of your top five seniors to  project their grades for their classes.   Put those grades into Synergy  then run the class rankings again.  Select your top two according to  weighted GPA to the hundredth.  If you have questions about this, give  me a call.
