Part Time teacher schedules: <\/strong>Prior to school beginning, be sure you have met with each of your part time staff to review their schedule and SIW commitments for the year. HERE<\/a> are the guidelines around schedules which includes the MOU guiding the use of admin discretion <\/strong>time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each teacher should be given their schedule on a google doc.<\/strong> Those schedules need to be in your school\u2019s folder and shared with me<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the school year begins, please allocate time during the first week for the introduction to the Synergy New Gradebook. If your Digital Learning Support (DLS) positions are not yet filled, please assign a staff member familiar with TeacherVUE to lead this session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura has already shared the slideshow, “Synergy New Gradebook Highlights,” with last year\u2019s Canvas Support Team on August 21, anticipating that the DLS team might not yet be fully identified. Many members of the CST are likely to apply again this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcoming our new teachers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s New Certified Employee Orientation<\/strong> will be Monday, August 26th<\/sup> at Pacific Crest (thank you, Golden Eagles, for accommodating us).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breakfast service begins at 7:00, and the program begins at 8:00 with welcome remarks from Dr. Cook. The new hires then go into position-specific sessions at 9:00 for the remainder of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure a warm and welcoming experience for new Certified staff members, each building or department onboarding a new Certified employee should have an administrative representative present to greet them. This representative’s role is to make the new staff member feel comfortable and supported, and to help avoid any socially awkward situations that come with not knowing anyone at a party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are excited to announce the creation of two new extra duty positions, a new ICCL position within our elementary and middle school buildings, specifically focused on Talent and Gifted (TAG) efforts and a Green Team Advisor for all sites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ICCL (TAG)<\/u><\/strong> role will be integral in enhancing our support for TAG students and ensuring that our practices are in line with our district\u2019s high standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The responsibilities of this new position will mirror the existing ICCL efforts, but with a targeted emphasis on TAG professional development and systems. This means that the individual in this role will be dedicated to fostering growth and improvement in our approach to identifying and servicing TAG students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
