Lexia and Dreambox are a critical part of our assessment, instruction, and intervention plans for the year. School-wide Lexia usage during the week of 9/21 was 74%. During the week of 9/28, Lexia usage was 65%. I would like to see participation at 90% or higher each week. Please do everything you can to encourage daily usage with your students.

Meetings: Our meeting schedule for the year is starting to take better shape. Our staff meetings have been moved (more permanently) to Thursdays at 2:30. Grade level EBISS meetings (about four for each grade level this year) will be on Tuesdays at 2:30. QPS/IPS meetings will happen on Wednesday mornings (you will be invited to these meetings as it pertains to students in your class.)

Art Support: Frank and I met with Karen Williams on Friday to discuss what art support for Elk Meadow might look like during this crazy year. However, in the Portland Tribune on Oct. 7, 2020, Governor Brown was quoted as saying: “Our Oregon health experts together with school administrators will be reevaluating our school metrics in the coming weeks, and we’ll have an update for you on that very soon.” Asked if “reevaluating” meant lowering the benchmarks for schools to reopen, Brown indicated the answer is yes: “We’re still exploring this issue, but I think it’s fair to say that the statewide metric, frankly, is quite challenging for communities around the state. And my top priority is to make sure that we get our kids back into school safely.” Hmmmmm.

**COVID/ Safety related information- READ COMPLETELY and CAREFULLY.
