Staffing:<\/strong> Please join me in welcoming Shannon back on Monday! Brooke has done an outstanding job of creating a smooth start to this school year – please keep her at the top of your preferred sub list! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

College and Career Day:<\/strong> November 18th is College and Career Day in Bend-La Pine Schools. This year we are looking to draw attention to the multitude of pathways available to students after they graduate high school. At Elk Meadow, we are inviting students to dress up for their dream job or their favorite college colors.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

SIW: <\/strong>This Wednesday will be a “B” week for our specialist schedule.<\/a> Our SIW time will be core effectiveness in the media center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday Staff Meeting Agenda:<\/strong> Many questions have been popping up about how to use the 30 minutes in your classroom when some of your class is away at intervention. Anna Schmitt will be talking about how to extend the core foundational skills during this block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Religion and the Holidays (From Kinsey Martin): <\/strong>Religious tolerance and inclusive practices were an area that the majority of BLS staff rated as very low (i.e., poor experiences with this, as employees in our organization) on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) staff survey last year.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve our practices in this area, please review this<\/a> information (reflection questions on page 1, guidance and resources on page 2) regarding how we can ensure inclusion and belonging for students, families, and staff of all religious and non-religious backgrounds.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employee Resource Groups (ERG) (From Kinsey Martin):<\/strong> Are you interested in connecting with colleagues who can relate to your identity and experiences?  Looking for an opportunity to build community, network, develop recommendations for more inclusive workplaces, and seek joy and fun<\/em> with colleagues who share similar experiences and identities?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
