It made for a fun way to return from the snow days. The read-a-thon will continue all week with daily spirit days.&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/u\/1\/folders\/1D9h-lQOL8bJ2FLkTFuV_kHb8nBc2BRjK\">Here is a link to the spirit days<\/a>. Dr. Seuss hats will be sold throughout the week (or until we run out).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/kelle.hildebrandt\/files\/2019\/03\/Screen-Shot-2019-03-02-at-2.20.00-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-337\" width=\"133\" height=\"205\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Art Inspiration:&nbsp;<\/strong>Need a &lt;30 minute project? Have your class do a winter snow scene using white chalk and a 9&#215;12 piece of black paper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Art Workshops:<\/strong>&nbsp;Art workshops start THIS WEDNESDAY and will take place on Wednesdays, March 6, March 13, and March 20. Below are a few details you will need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There will NOT be specialists on these days. Instead, there will be a whole school recess from 10:30-10:50 and workshops from 9:15-10:15.<\/li><li>&nbsp;Many staff use the 10:15-10:30 time for their homeroom students to help clean the classroom before the recess.<\/li><li>When signing up students in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1gEZLZtja9pMx3u2JU3cfdLf-oMNjltwT3gpaoEA5Wl0\/edit#gid=0\">google doc<\/a>, please be sure to use both first and last name and teacher name in parentheses\u2026 i.e. Peter Pan (Variel)<\/li><li>Name tags with the location of the workshop are helpful and recommended.<\/li><li>Do not release students early from your workshop\u2026 even if you are done early. Everyone should release students to go back to their classrooms at 10:15.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Lockout Reminders:<\/strong>  During a lockOUT the &#8220;threat&#8221; is out of our building and we secure the perimeter to keep it out, then continue business as usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bring everyone indoors<\/li><li>Check that exterior doors are locked<\/li><li>Continue business as usual: continue to follow the daily schedule and transitions (with exception of outdoor recess)<\/li><li>An announcement will be made when lockout is over<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ed Foundation Grants:<\/strong>  The Education Foundation 2019 Classroom Grants program opened on February 18th and closes on March 22. Educators may submit one grant but schools may submit several grants with principals&nbsp;indicating priority of requests. The online grant application and guidelines is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engagedminds.org\">www.engagedminds.org<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SIW This Week<\/strong>: Is team time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To Do:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Winter SLGGs Rescheduling:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;Due&nbsp;to&nbsp;our&nbsp;snow&nbsp;days&nbsp;last&nbsp;week,&nbsp;many&nbsp;SLGG&nbsp;check-in&#8217;s&nbsp;need&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;rescheduled.  I am booked with formal observations next week and a variety of responsibilities the following week, so it will be a couple of weeks before I am able to meet for SLGGs.
