February 2nd Plans:<\/strong> I haven’t had a chance to plan any details around the 2\/2 half day inservice time; I plan to do that early this week as I know many of you need this info. This much I do know: our Elk Meadow in-service time will be in the morning half. The second half of the day will be for work time. More information coming soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EET Book Exchange: <\/strong>The EET Book Exchange will be happening this coming Friday. Here is a link to the draft schedule<\/a>. Please feel free to find another class to swap with if the current time does not work for you. Please let me know if you haven any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eagle Spirit Assembly:<\/strong> The Eagle Spirit Assembly that was scheduled for this coming Friday has been bumped to the following Wednesday 2\/1. More details soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking Field Trips (From Skip)<\/strong>: For walking field trips, please use the Field Trip \/ Activity Permission and Release of Liability Forms (in the portal)<\/a>. For the trip\/activity description portion of the form, please use a description like \u201c2022-23 school year walking field trip\u201d and include any additional information that would be pertinent, including a maximum distance of one mile from the school. Only one form per student is needed for the school year. ** Note from Kelle<\/strong> – I’m excited that we have an updated walking field trip form\/ process! If you plan to take some walking field trips this year, please send the permission form home for your class. Next year, we will include it in our back-to-school packet once again. Additionally, Kelle will need to approve all walking field trips, so remember to complete the field trip request form at least one week prior to the trip for Kelle to sign.**<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computer Science\/ Educator Network Opportunty (From Instructional Technology): <\/strong>February 15 is the next Educator Network SIW.  A Computer Science training will be one of the options. Our instructional technology team is partnering with Central Oregon STEM Hub<\/a> to offer a Computer Science SIW on the February 15th<\/sup> Educator Network Day. Please let Kelle know ASAP if you are interested and I will get you signed up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we begin to receive results from Winter DIBELS, please remember when implementing a new curriculum it takes time to see results.  Try not to be discouraged if the results are not exactly what you hoped for or a different than you have seen in the past.  We are still in the beginning stages of implementing this new curriculum and need to give ourselves grace as we learn how to most effectively deliver and refine the lessons.  Please stay the course of continuing to learn and implement the pieces of your foundational skills block and your intervention block.  The temptation for all of us is to go back to what we know and have always done (especially when something is new and different), and we are in the process of making some pretty big and necessary shifts to the science of reading practices.  Please reach out to your instructional coach for support.  We are here to support our educators with the implementation of the Really Great Reading curriculum and instructional practices that align with the science of reading.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
