This and That:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Staffing:<\/strong> The music job has finally posted and I have been granted permission to hire for it.  I\u2019m still waiting for permission to hire for kindergarten. If we are given permission some time this week, interviews will be the following week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction:<\/strong> Construction on the storage unit off the back of the building is scheduled to begin this Wednesday, May 8th. This means that there may be some additional noise and activity out the back of B and D wings. Additionally, there will be some fencing and possibly some altered paths for bus access and arrival for Kids Inc. We will keep you informed of any changes to daily procedures as we know more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classroom Movement Plan: <\/strong>I will be sending out a draft of our classroom movement plan a little later this week for your feedback and suggestions. (I said that last week, too, but I am REALLY hoping this time it’s true.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019-2020 Elk Meadow Map: <\/strong> Here is draft 2 of the classroom and office map for next school year<\/a>. A few classrooms have changed from the first map I shared (I have spoken with those teachers) and a couple offices have changed from this school year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Placement:<\/strong>\u00a0Earlier in the week, I sent everyone a link to our student placement google document from last year. Some staff were wanting access to that document in order to be aware of combinations of students that did not work together well in the past. Feel free to use this information to support placement this year if you choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Do:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Classroom Teacher Mini Observation Sign-Ups:<\/strong> I would like for all grade 2 and 3 teachers to sign-up for a deeper learning mini observation for this coming week here<\/a> (other grade level teachers are welcome to sign-up for this week as well). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteer Appreciation:<\/strong> Our Volunteer Appreciation Lunch will take place on May 24th in the media center. Here is a link to add ALL volunteers to the the invite list. <\/a> The office will write names on the invitations and put them in your mailbox to be sent home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tier 3 Math Intervention Planning for Next Year: <\/strong>Last call for Tier 3 math intervention planning participants. So far, we have Kristin, Jerry, and Mary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
