Good morning!
\nIt’s the home stretch to 2 weeks of vacation…are you feeling it?! \u00a0This looks to be a great (and energy filled) week with lots of celebrations and other fun activities. \u00a0And, this will be our last week with our wonderful Tonya, so let’s make it count!<\/p>\n
In anticipation of our upcoming \u00a0vacation, two jokes for you:
\nWhere do math teachers go on vacation? To Times Square
\nWhere do crayons go on vacation? Color-ado!<\/p>\n
A few notes to get you going: 2)<\/strong> Shelter in Place drill Tuesday at 11:15am<\/strong><\/span> (followed by Fire Drill). \u00a0An actual Shelter in Place for us might be that a huge storm blows in causing damage to the school or stranding us for a period time. \u00a0We’ll practice for the potential damage part, in this case windows breaking. \u00a0The drill for this would look a lot like an Earthquake drill so let’s do the duck and cover under the desks and away from the windows if possible. \u00a0We’ll hold this for a few minutes and then pull the fire alarm. \u00a0We’ll initiate the duck and cover via intercom (and I’ll follow up in person).<\/p>\n 3)<\/strong> SIW this week<\/strong> will be used to reflect on the first part of the year–celebrate accomplishments, discuss concerns, consider ideas, and get excited for the remainder of the year. \u00a0Reflection is an important part of the growth process and I am looking forward to some time with all of you considering how things are going here at school.<\/p>\n 4)<\/strong> Proposed schedule for after break<\/strong>–we’ll have a few minutes to discuss this at SIW: 5)<\/strong> Grade 2 hosts Cafe Amity this week.<\/p>\n 6)<\/strong> I’ll be leaving school a little early on Tuesday, around 2:30.<\/p>\n Here’s to a great week ahead!
