We are short for the High Lakes Elementary School breakfast on Thursday and can use some additional volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">***<strong>From Andrea Wilson, HR Director, Benefits and Risk Management<\/strong>***<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New Incident Report Form now available in the Staff Portal.&nbsp;As a follow up to the investigations trainings in August, the revised Incident Report Form is now available in the Staff Portal. The form now has a second page for the post-incident\/accident investigation.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/bendlapine.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/r\/Human%20Resources\/Workers%20Comp\/BLS%20Incident%20Report%20Form%20-%20staff%209.2024.pdf?csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=ONKJe1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;BLS Incident Report Form \u2013 staff 9.2024.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a reminder, a site administrator or supervisor must complete a post-incident\/accident investigation after every incident that results in employee injury. The investigation must be completed within 5-10 business days following the injury. Please reach out to Andrea Wilson if you have any questions, need assistance with an investigation, or have form feedback. Thank you again for your partnership and help as we navigate this new process!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Use Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the summer, we updated our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1pHT50BopYqMVXZ2PwVN9NubMVhhBm6SxkYMvbDE-7nY\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">community use guidelines<\/a>.&nbsp; Walt Norris met with all of the custodians to review the expectations regarding access to elementary school playgrounds and middle school tracks (we are not opening high school tracks at this time).&nbsp; Custodians have been instructed to leave one gate open for community access in the summer, on weekends and before\/after school hours and were encouraged&nbsp;to engage with building leaders about which gate that should be. If you have not done so already, please make sure you identify the gate that makes the most sense to keep open. As always, these gates are to remain locked during the school day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cabinet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Department leaders may be invited to attend a Cabinet meeting (every Wednesday at 9 am) to explain or seek input on a topic that has far reaching impact on our organization.  Our core Ops team of Kim, Doug, Scott McD, Scott B and Walt can discuss potential Cabinet topics during our twice a month meeting (every other Thursday) and then bring relevant topics to Cabinet.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safe Schools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It has come to our attention that some of you have experienced issues with completing your required courses on the SafeSchools platform. Specifically, some users have successfully completed modules and received a certificate of completion, but these completions are not being recognized in the Schoox system, which informs UKG of your status.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>While the exact cause of this issue is still being investigated, we wanted to share some tips that may help you avoid or mitigate these problems:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em><u>Use a Computer<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>: Please avoid completing courses on your phone. Using a desktop or laptop computer can help ensure the platform functions correctly.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><u>Browser Choice<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>: We recommend using either Chrome or Firefox browsers when accessing SafeSchools. Other browsers may not be fully compatible with the platform.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><u>Course Interaction<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>: Avoid pausing or skipping forward in videos. Engage fully with each module and ensure you answer any questions that appear promptly.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><u>Save Completion Certificates<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>: After finishing a course, please save or screenshot your completion certificate. This will serve as proof of completion if the system does not update automatically.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><u>If your trainings do not register as completed:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0complete all of your safe school trainings and email all of the certificates in one email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hr-tech@bend.k12.or.us\">hr-tech@bend.k12.or.us<\/a>\u00a0letting us know that they didn\u2019t complete. We will credit your courses on our end.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue. We will be creating an ad hoc committee including level leaders, facilities\/maintenance, custodial and IT staff in the process.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The custodial team is developing grease traps cleaning practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Planning for wild fire evacuations and reunifications occurred due to the impact on Sunriver\/Three Rivers a week ago<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Site and emergency drill visits are underway<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional AQI monitoring apps are being piloted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Facilities\/Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Key card access and cameras installation at pilot sites in process at LPHS and Elk Meadow. We&#8217;d like to thank the Three Rivers staff and the many members of our BLS Ops, TLC and Communication teams who assisted in the emergency response process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many thanks to our maintenance team members who responded to High Desert Middle School on September 16 due to a city water main break that resulted in water shut downs at the school.
