{"id":1875,"date":"2022-06-04T17:59:06","date_gmt":"2022-06-04T17:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/pcms\/?p=1875"},"modified":"2022-06-09T17:40:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-09T17:40:54","slug":"june-3-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/pcms\/2022\/06\/04\/june-3-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"June 3, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">National Junior Honor Society<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congratulations&nbsp;to the 156 Pacific Crest 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;graders who were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society on Wednesday evening.&nbsp;Each NJHS member achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher and completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service this school year. Together, this group of exceptional student leaders completed more than 2500 hours of community service: planting trees on the Pacific Crest campus; mentoring elementary school students; cleaning up our local parks and trails; working with animals at the Humane Society, Healing Reins, and Street Dog Hero; raking and shoveling snow for elderly neighbors; collecting food and clothing for less fortunate community members; and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Final Spirit Week of the Year<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Monday, 6\/13: 1990&#8217;s Apparel Day<\/strong> (wear clothes from this era)<\/li><li><strong>Tuesday, 6\/14: Neon Day<\/strong> (wear your brightest colored clothing)<\/li><li><strong>Wednesday, 6\/15: Golden Eagle Day<\/strong> (wear PCMS swag or gold, black, silver, white)<\/li><li><strong>Thursday, 6\/16: Advisory Theme Choice<\/strong> (each advisory will choose &#8220;united&#8221; theme)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Volunteer Opportunities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are still needing parent volunteer support for last day &#8220;all-school field day&#8221;. They are currently seeing a Vice-President and Treasurer. Here is a simple and great way to support our students and staff with two important end-of-the-year events. Our All Student Field Day takes place the last day of school, as well as, final staff gathering to send them off on summer break. Now is a good time to schedule your athlete&#8217;s sports physical appointment to avoid the rush in August.
