It was another fun week in The Nest. Students toured downtown art galleries, tested water samples at Mirror Pond, and continued to power through our state tests. Next week we have many athletes competing at the regional track meet and will host families for 5th Grade Family Night. It&#8217;s an exciting time of year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have a great weekend with your family!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sean<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Upcoming Lockdown Drill<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, June 2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;we will be running our spring lockdown drill at PCMS. All the drills we do are not only required by Oregon law, but prepare staff, students and our community on how to respond in the event of an emergency. We take these drills seriously, and we expect our students to take them seriously as well. Our students and staff were trained in the fall when we did our first lockdown drill, and students will be getting a refresher on protocols by watching a Standard Response Protocol video in Advisory next week, and subsequently discussing specific safety plans with our School Resource Officer. During our drill, Bend Police Department will be on site to support our efforts. You can meet the coaches, hear more about the program, and most importantly ask questions about the upcoming season. The meeting will take place in the Nest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>8th Grade iPad Returns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;graders will turn in their iPad and charging brick\/cord on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Monday, June 12th<\/span>.&nbsp; They will be given full instructions for this process prior to the 12th.&nbsp;If they DO NOT turn in their charger a fine will be placed on their account for $30.&nbsp;Please note, we cannot accept any chargers other than the ones we gave out.&nbsp;They will get new iPads in High school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;graders who have a 6<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;generation iPad will also be turning in their iPad that week as that model is being retired.&nbsp;They will receive a new iPad in the fall.&nbsp;We will notify these students prior to the last week of school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contact Marni Hanna if you have any questions regarding the above at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:marni.hanna@bend.k12.or.us\" target=\"_blank\">marni.hanna@bend.k12.or.us<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>REMINDER: Purchase Yearbook!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These high quality yearbooks are published by Herff Jones and include hard covers and&nbsp;40+ full color pages packed full of memories.&nbsp;A yearbook costs&nbsp;$20.00 and should be purchased online via our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/touchbase.bend.k12.or.us\/\">TouchBase<\/a>&nbsp;payment system.
