Principal’s Hello<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello, Golden Eagle families!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a BUSY time in the nest! We have summer weather (and energetic behavior), a district-wide shortage of subs, end-of-year planning, and hiring–all happening at the same time! This, of course, is to be expected at a large, public middle school. It’s all good–just sharing the news. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few months ago our students took the Oregon Health Survey. All 6th, 8th, and 11th graders in Oregon take the survey. The survey looks at mental health, risky behaviors, and environmental factors. I’m happy to report that PCMS students are doing pretty well, compared to state averages at least. It doesn’t mean we still don’t have growth areas, but, as a community, we’re doing a pretty good job helping our students feel safe and feel like they matter. If you’re interested in more granular detail, please reach out to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HELP NEEDED! Call for End of Year Event Volunteers<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help make this a successful end of the school year! We have a few FUN events we would love to have volunteers help out with such as field days! Here is the Sign-up<\/a> link for more info, dates and times. Your time is greatly appreciated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math Bypass Test for 6th & 7th Graders – <\/strong>Final deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration for the PCMS Math Bypass assessment will close at 11:59 on Sunday (June 4). Assessment will be on Tuesday , June 6 at Pacific Crest Middle School \/ 8:55 AM<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The assessment will take your child approximately 60-80 minutes. The second data point that may be used for a math bypass decision, is the state mathematics test, OSAS (Oregon State Assessment System.) These together will recommend your child\u2019s placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 PCMS Football Season Family Information Night<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, June 8th at 6:00 PM in the PCMS Nest: This meeting is for all rising 7th and 8th grade students who want to play football in Fall 2023. You can meet the coaches, hear more about the program and most importantly ask questions about the upcoming season. Flyer<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
