Students were calm and compliant and safely moved to our evacuation zones. Next week, we introduce our student clubs (ask your students about them!) and reintroduce our golden feathers and gold mine student store.

The golden feathers and gold mine store are part of our school-wide positive behavior support plan. Students earn golden feathers by being safe, respectful, and responsible in their classes. They can buy items with the feathers in our student store or snack bar, or save them up with friends for bigger items, like a pizza party. All golden feathers also go into a monthly movie raffle, where a student from each grade level earns a couple tickets to the movies. Fun times!

Next week, please join us at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 28, for Back to School Night! This is a chance to meet your student’s teachers, see the school, and go through your student’s daily schedule.

Also, don’t forget that right before Back to School Night, at 5:30 PM, is a PCCO parent event. Here you can learn all about our Pacific Crest Community Organization, the non-profit group that helps our school immensely!

We look forward to seeing you! We placed second in 7th grade girls and third in 8th grade boys. We also had overall individual race winners of 6th grade girls and boys, 7th grade boys, and 8th grade boys.

On the football field, both 7th and 8th grade began their season at Crook County. For 7th grade, the defense had a great showing, causing six Cowboy turnovers. Excellent tackling and swarming the ball led to holding the Cowboys to a single touchdown for the evening. The Golden Eagle offense had a slow start, but quickly adjusted, resulting in two touchdowns scored, with an end score of 16-6 in our favor. The 8th grade Golden Eagles jumped out to a 22-0 halftime lead with a balanced passing and running attack. The defense was exceptional and continued building the lead in the second half to go up 28-0 before giving up a late touchdown with the final score 28-6.

On the volleyball court, it was a good first day for both teams. Eighth grade split with High Desert, and they are our toughest competition. Against Sky View, our 7th grade C and B teams won two of their games, and our A team won one. Overall, all of our teams were impressive with their passing and we had some strong hits to score several key points.

It was a great first showing for all of our teams. We look forward to next week when on Tuesday, September 26, both volleyball teams will matchup against Cascade. On that same day, our cross country team will attend a meet at Cascade with Pilot Butte, Bend International School, Three Rivers, and Cascade. On Wednesday, September 27, our 7th grade football team will host Cascade, while 8th grade will head over to Cascade. Finally, on Thursday, September 28, while 7th grade has a BYE, 8th grade volleyball will play against Pilot Butte on the road. We look forward to seeing our supporters there. Go Golden Eagles!

REMINDER: Student & Staff Photo Day

Dorian Studios will be onsite this Thursday, September 28, to photograph all students and staff.
