We saw students complete art projects using beautiful examples of value gradation, evaluate and enhance personal narratives, begin to dive into research writing, and share and connect more with teachers and one another in class. It is a great time to be a Golden Eagle!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here are some things to be aware of as we move into the new week:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grade Updates<\/strong>: On Wednesday of last week, all families should have received notification if students had a current D or F in the class. As I described last week, this provides a good opportunity to reach out and make a plan for success moving forward. As a result of this messaging, we had floods of work being turned in and several students reaching out to connect during office hours! Moving forward, we encourage\u00a0<em>all students and\/or families<\/em>\u00a0to do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make a\u00a0<u>weekly plan<\/u>\u00a0to check grades.<\/strong>\u00a0When there are trouble spots, reach out to meet with the teacher and make a plan.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not wait to contact the teacher!<\/strong>\u00a0Even if you don&#8217;t know where to start or are not sure what questions to ask, reach out! Each day you fall behind makes it harder to move forward and make a plan. It also is hard to trouble-shoot when frustration and difficulty is high. We want to problem-solve with you and are ready to help!<\/li>\n<li>If you notice that there are several areas where you need support, it may be beneficial to reach out to your counselor. Because we are all operating far away from one another, it is helpful to\u00a0<strong>give us insight as to what you think the barrier might be for you<\/strong>. For example, some students struggle due to organization, others due to technical glitches, others due to not understanding the actual content, while still others have difficulty with the volume of work. All of these barriers require different solutions so when you can help us understand your personal situation, we can better support you going forward.
