My hope with this new format is to have information more easily accessible to you as we move forward in the years to come. Each week, rather than sending an e-mail to students and families, I will share the newest edition of the blog “News from the Nest”. It is my hope that rather than sifting through your e-mail inbox, you can bookmark this site and access current information regarding our school at any time. In the weeks to come, we may add different pages that can be found to the right of the small ‘News from the Nest’ title as we recognize better uses for this tool. I hope you enjoy our new and improved “News from the Nest” at PCMS.<\/p>\n
This week is a week full of fun as we roll into a two-week break. We look forward to seeing all of your creative PCMS spirit beginning bright and early tomorrow! Before you leave for break, it is also a good time to check grades with your teachers and make a plan for catching up on any missing work. When we return from break there will be just 4 short weeks until the semester ends so now is a good time to make sure you are up-to-date. If you have ANY questions at all regarding grades or how you can get support, please reach out to your teachers. WE ARE HERE TO HELP!<\/p>\n

Winter Spirit Week<\/strong><\/p>\n Get ready for a week of SPIRIT and FUN! Don’t forget to submit photos for our yearbook of your student participating in this week’s fun.<\/p>\n Weekly<\/strong> Yearbook Theme for Advisory<\/strong><\/p>\n This week\u2019s yearbook theme is Winter Spirit Week. Students will submit photos of themselves participating in our Winter Spirit Week themes. All submissions will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win prizes!<\/strong> Please upload photo(s) to HJ eShare<\/a> using school code \u201cgoldeneagles<\/strong>\u201d, include the first and last name of who is in the picture with a description of \u201cWinter Spirit”. Questions? Email Julia Reynolds<\/a>.<\/p>\n Library Book Pick Up Incentive<\/b><\/p>\n On Wednesday, December 16th there will be an added incentive to check out books. If you wear your ugliest sweater while picking up a book, your name will be entered into a prize drawing. We will also take a quick photo for the yearbook. We will be following Covid-19 safety protocols.<\/p>\n Meet Superintendent Finalists December 16<\/strong><\/p>\n Bend-La Pine Schools Board of Directors invites the community to save the date to meet, virtually, the two finalists vying for the role of Bend-La Pine Schools next superintendent on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. <\/strong>The presentations will be shared live on Bend-La Pine Schools’ Vimeo<\/a> and Facebook<\/a> channels and will be archived on the Superintendent Search website<\/a>. Each finalist will share a short presentation and answer questions from the community. Individuals are invited to submit questions for the finalists via our website: https:\/\/bls.fyi\/supsearch<\/a>. The website also includes a job description, information about the process, a timeline, core competencies and more.<\/p>\n Holiday Brown Bag Program<\/strong><\/p>\n Bend-La Pine Schools is expanding it’s free meals during the upcoming holidays as part of its Holiday Brown Bag Program. Seven school sites will open for special Holiday Brown Bag pick ups on Monday, Dec. 21 and Monday, Dec. 28. The sites will be open from noon to 1 p.m. and each Holiday Brown Bag will include food for breakfast, lunch and supper for four days.<\/p>\n PCMS Community Podcast and Book Club<\/strong><\/p>\n I will be sending out information this week about a Podcast club that we will be launching this week as well as give information for our new year book club. Both of these clubs are for anyone interested who would like to share, read, learn, and meet others as we talk about topics related to History, Equity, Race, Parenting, and raising excellent future leaders in our community.
