The Pacific Crest Community Organization (PCCO) is excited to kick off our annual “Fill Our Nest” Giving Campaign. This one-time annual fundraising campaign runs from September 26th thru October 31st 2024, but of course we will accept contributions all year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your donations will support a multitude of enriching activities, events, programs, and grants for our students and staff. This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 in financial support from our community. These funds support programs such as school social events, teacher\/staff grants, school enrichment clubs, funds\/scholarships for field trips and classroom experiences for each grade level. None of these programs would be possible without the support of this fantastic community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming Lockdown Drill<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n On Tuesday, October 8th we will be running our fall lockdown drill at PCMS. All the drills we do are not only required by Oregon law, but they prepare staff, students and our community on how to respond in the event of an emergency. We take these drills seriously, and we expect our students to take them seriously as well. There is no opt-out option for this drill. 100% of our students and staff will be participating in the drill on October 8th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Next week students and staff will get a refresher lesson on protocols regarding a lockdown by watching a Standard Response Protocol video in Advisory. During our drill, Bend Police Department will be on site to support our efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You can find more information about Standard Response Protocol<\/a> (SRP) in the following guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Photo Day Follow-up<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n First of all, huge THANK YOUS to Sarah, Ashly, Monica and Tatjana for volunteering on photo day this last Thursday by helping nearly 600 students and staff members get their photos taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students received their coveted student photo ID badge as well. Although many of your student(s) may say they are unhappy with the ID photo for numerous reasons, please know that due to the possible glitches during the “on-the-spot” digital printing process and the green screen background, some photos may be skewed a bit and the coloring may be a off. Rest assured, when your pre-purchased photo packets are printed and when these photos are placed in the yearbook they will be of the utmost good quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Photo Makeup \/ Retake Day<\/span> is on Tuesday, 11\/5. This day is for students who were not present on Thursday, 9\/26 and for students who need, not want, to have their photos retaken. If you have purchased a photo packet and you want your student to have their photo retaken, please return the photo packet to the main office by Tuesday, 11\/5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lastly, in several weeks pre-purchased photo packets will arrive to PCMS and they will be sent home with your student(s). For those who did not pre-purchase, your student will bring home an ordering flyer with their photo on it and online ordering instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Free School Breakfast and Lunch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Just a reminder, all schools in the District qualify for the federal Community Eligibility Provision program. All students are eligible to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day. No application is required. Learn more here<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Use BLPay<\/a><\/u> to add money to your child\u2019s Nutrition Services Meal Account for extra meals, milk, juice, snack shack and a la carte items, to check your student’s balance, see a 30-day history, and to receive an email when your account balance falls below a specified amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monster Mash Halloween Dance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s that time of year when students start thinking about costumes for Halloween. Our annual Halloween social is Friday, October 25 from 4:00 \u2013 6:00 PM.
