2ND TRIMESTER START UP REMINDERS
FIRST: Be sure your Canvas course materials are “published” so students can actually see them!!?? (Hopefully you know more about this process than I do!)
SECOND: I advise you to send your Period 1 students a “welcome email” tonight with your WebEx link so they know where to go at 9:15AM tomorrow morning!! I anticipate some strugglers, especially in the 9th grade! If you have a kiddo show up in the wring WebEx, please use the master schedule to help them find the right WebEx!
THIRD: Any student scheduling problems or questions – please direct them to Jennifer Scalley, then she and I will troubleshoot.
FOURTH: YES to Motivation on Monday tomorrow at 12:05 in my WebEx! I am looking forward to it! I would LOVE to highlight one or two Service/Honors/Passion projects, so if there are 2 or 3 of you who happen to have a photo or two and wouldn’t mind calling out and celebrating a standout student/project, that would be AWESOME!!
NEW 10th GRADE STUDENT STARTING – heads up!!

- In Honors Lit/Comp
- MOTIVATED for classes and school work that feel less like just “going through the motions”
- Nice kid for sure – a little quiet but had good questions for me in our meeting

Patrick will NOT be fully enrolled and will not have access to your Canvas courses until Tuesday!

CDL SCHEDULE – No Change
Just to be clear, our CDL schedule is not changing!
Targeted Study Groups (hosted by Jen Rule and our SPED team ARE going to be changing. We are REALLY HOPING to shift many/most of these groups to ON CAMPUS LIPI groups on Mon/Tues/Thurs. The SPED team is meeting Monday afternoon to review TSG groupings and schedule with the goal of publishing a new and improved TSG/LIPI plan to begin in January.
In the meantime, the only TSG that will continue in December is the ALG 1 TSG run by Berit

INTENSIVES CREDIT DECISIONS AND TRACKING
THIS IS A COPY/PASTE OF MY FRIDAY EMAIL:
NO HURRY for awarding Intensive credit – sorry, I should have gotten this out sooner but the day has been full. I would like to set aside some time on Wednesday (feel free to do it sooner if you want) for folks to enter Credit or No Credit for Passion, Honors or Service project kiddos.
We will be using the Intensive Spreadsheet Student Groupings List column I-K to indicate credit or no credit for student in Honors, Passion and Service Projects.
DRAFT Criteria For Credit No Credit Decisions:
- Attended at least 2 out of 3 Webex meetings (or communicated alt plan w/ you)
- Turned in documentation of a project that implies close to 8 hours (including Webex) – THIS IS GRAY!
Feel free to make the EASY credit-no credit decisions now (if you want) and enter them in the spreadsheet. On Wednesday we can check in together and provide support around borderline ones! If a kiddo wants to submit their project next week, I am OK with it.
