I have captured some important notes from that conversation here. Please take a few minutes to read through them!

Once you have read these notes (especially the reminders on “how to use the sheet”), then please be sure to update the SOC sheet prior to 2PM on Tuesday.

I will review the data between 2pm and 4pm and set up a couple of EBISS “staffing teams” to dig into specific kids (with a protocol).

NEW PARENT NIGHT – Staffing and Plan Review

Here is the overall agenda with links to slides for components. I will set aside some time on Wednesday afternoon to finalize this planning!

For those that don’t have a 9th or 10th grade Crew, I have paired you up!

MORE TO COME!

TECH SUPPORT – Helping clarify the “lanes”

I am hoping to clarify some of the WHO and HOW of tech support for you as staff and for students. This is still a bit of a fluid situation, and we are trying to balance the load, ask the right people the right questions etc.

LISA JOHNSON – TIER 1: Lisa’s main role right now as our Tier 1 person is to help students/families:

get/replace/repair ipads, covers, cords

troubleshoot ipads that aren’t connecting to internet, don’t have self service

troubleshoot basic Bend LaPine account issues that students might be having

Typically Lisa is more limited to “my iPad is not functioning properly” issues and NOT on “I am not sure how to use this specific app” issues

LAURA CLARK – INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT. Laura’s role is to support teachers with any questions OR problems they (or their students) are experiencing with instructional apps like WebEx, Google Drive, Canvas, Go Formative, YouTube, etc etc. Individual teachers CAN email Laura questions.

HEIDI DIXON: Canvas Coach Heidi will be a support person to help our teachers get better at using Canvas and can also be a support person as you are trying to help students troubleshoot Canvas issues. Heidi can move it up the food chain to Laura if she is stuck!

BRAD WALER – SITE TECH: Brad is really the go to back up support person for LISA AND ROGER. The only time (I think) that a teacher would go directly to Brad is if they were having a hard time with a piece of classroom tech hardware (example: digital projector, doc cam, or teacher laptop, printer). I recommend going through JENNIFER first on these issues and she may punt it up to Brad.

Election Message for Teachers – read this.

As usual, it is good to remember the legal constraints around discussing the upcoming election in class.
