Everything is changing day by day so to ask you to put in a ton of work to prepare for a meeting that might end up being canceled is not fair to you and your teachers.&nbsp; This is at least one thing you can take off your plate for January (although ten things have probably been added).&nbsp; Tammy, Julie and I might be doing some subbing over the next few weeks.&nbsp; But when we are available we\u2019ll do some unannounced drop-ins to just just check in and lend some support.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second gift is the gift of putting our School Design follow up work on pause.&nbsp; Instead of working on that in January, we will revisit in February when we get back to a healthier place for everyone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third, we are canceling this coming&nbsp; Monday meeting and some BRYT work we were going to roll out for the remainder of the month.&nbsp; There may be a time we need to meet with you and will do a good ol\u2019 fashioned WebEx meeting instead.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hang in there.&nbsp; We all thought things were supposed to be getting easier but this Omicron variant had other ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-black-background-color has-black-color is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Collective Efficacy\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cIn order to address the challenges of inequity in education, teachers must perceive themselves to be both individually and collectively capable of delivering effective instruction to underperforming and\/or disadvantaged students in ways that will result in students\u2019 better performance and increased academic achievement.\u201d &#8211; <\/em>Stefani Arzonetti<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tammy and I recently had a letter shared with us that supports the quote above.&nbsp; The letter was sent to the Deschutes Historical Museum by a woman who attended Reid School before it became the home of the museum. Here are resources to help prepare&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1jHSD0EPbikXMcaeLitLCkUh5aUPPpBlJwHVse5tcomI\/edit\">Targeted Remote Learning (Ready, Set, Go) document<\/a> in case a specific class had to be quarantined.&nbsp; This document has helpful information that should be reviewed.&nbsp; Focus .&nbsp; It would be a good idea to review this document again and specifically focus on these things\u2026<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/elementary-curriculum-instruction\/ready-set-go\/\">Ready set Go information from TLC along with a Ready, Set, Go checklist<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/15km24_LXbPt9gwn82AgXihSNAaxyOUB_\/view?usp=sharing\">Remote Learning Schedules<\/a> &#8211; save this link and\/or print out a copy.&nbsp; No need to share with staff right now.&nbsp; These are schedules teachers can use or if last year\u2019s schedule worked well for them and their students they can resurrect those.<\/li><li>K-2 iPads &#8211; how would you deploy these and send them home with kids?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Hot Spots &#8211; what families have connectivity issues or challenges and would need assistance?&nbsp; Let site tech know your needs if we go remote.<\/li><li>SeeSaw, Google classroom, Google Docs, Gmail, and WebEx &#8211; &nbsp; Are your teachers and your students familiar with these systems and programs?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, we don\u2019t have any intention of transitioning to remote learning.&nbsp; But if we\u2019re using the \u201cReady, Set, Go\u201d model this is our time to review our \u201cReady\u201d status.&nbsp; As Steve Austin said, \u201cIf it looks like it might rain, you&#8217;d bring your umbrella with you.\u201d Find your umbrella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#a30003\" class=\"has-inline-color\">From Julie\u2013Educator Network Information for this coming Wednesday<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When is it?:\u00a0<\/strong> SIW time January 12th starting at 1:45-3:15 (you can decide as a school) and it lasts for 90 minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who is it for?:<\/strong>\u00a0 It is required for all kindergarten, 1st-grade teachers, and school admin (and in some schools 2nd grade)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Will my instructional coach be here?:<\/strong>\u00a0 Your instructional coach will let you know where they will be for the day of the SIW. If they are located at your site, I still highly recommend admin lead the discussion, using your instructional coach as support.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is my role as admin?<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1RmpTR130Wpze7gKSHseFpPKD-9cVho4hqJ9fgsZgPRk\/edit?usp=sharing\">Here is the list of who is facilitating at each building<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To set up the presentation (please test everything beforehand)<\/li><li>Run the presentation (the video will tell you what to do,&nbsp; when to pause &#8230;)<\/li><li>Choose a timekeeper to watch the clock at engagement sections<\/li><li>Most importantly to be a learner alongside all your teachers<\/li><li>Listen to your teachers&#8217; discussions and look for opportunities to support them AND also encourage them to reach out to their instructional coach<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do I need for the presentation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your instructional coach will deliver the following to you prior to January 12th:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/15Eblp46jXVbmy7MzNr9RKvqMf_T0PpNv\/view?usp=sharing\">spiral-bound book<\/a> for each participant with content information and note-taking devices<\/li><li>sets of decodable books for each teacher (I discuss these decodables in the video and give you time as a team to discuss their use, please do not give them to teachers beforehand)<\/li><li>the video (<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/j-17kXZaK10\">posted on you-tube<\/a>) and the same presentation <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1NxV5sDE6GBAJHpAd7VWt8KTtEj90bAcM\/view?usp=sharing\">linked in google drive<\/a>, just to be sure<ul><li>before the SIW, please test the video on the equipment you will be using- to make sure the sound and connections all work.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do teachers need?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Heggerty curriculum book<\/li><li>spiral SIW books from last time (to reference, if they have them)<\/li><li>the following links will be sent to your teachers by your instructional coach the morning of the presentation.&nbsp;
