{"id":726,"date":"2022-08-04T16:03:38","date_gmt":"2022-08-04T23:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/skip.offenhauser\/?p=726"},"modified":"2022-08-04T16:03:39","modified_gmt":"2022-08-04T23:03:39","slug":"august-4-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/skip.offenhauser\/2022\/08\/04\/august-4-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>August 4, 2022<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome back everyone.&nbsp; This first blog entry is going to be a quick one.&nbsp; Since we are going to see each other Monday there\u2019s no sense in going overboard on topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Updates, Reminders, Department Info and Rants\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Lora<\/strong> &#8211; \u200bAs you plan for back-to-school activities, please remember that in 2022 Yom Kippur begins the evening of October 4<sup>th<\/sup> and lasts until the evening of October 5<sup>th<\/sup>. Please do NOT schedule any family events\/activities on these dates.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Just a reminder about school supplies<\/strong> &#8211; you have discretionary dollars for school supplies.\u00a0 Please send a message to your teachers not to circumvent the process by going out to donors choose (we\u2019ve heard of some instances of this happening).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hot off the Press! <\/strong>&#8211; we heard from Kim in transportation that we have enough drivers to accommodate field trips this year.\u00a0 Woo Hoo!\u00a0 Look for more information on this topic in upcoming updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hiring<\/strong> &#8211; We will be discussing hiring at our Monday retreat.\u00a0 I know many of you have seen some increases in enrollment (which is good news) but there are some that are down a bit.\u00a0 This is the tricky part of the year where we don\u2019t want to over hire. Tammy and I will be reviewing numbers daily so before you start a hiring process talk to us first<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#f80101\"><strong>The Red Zone &#8211; Things to do or share<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please take note of a few time and location changes\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We will be at Pac Crest for the retreat &#8211; not Juniper.\u00a0 We had to move the summer program that was at Ensworth over to Juniper so now we don\u2019t have the space.\u00a0 See you at Pac Crest Monday.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget to bring your computer and something to write in.<\/li><li>The CEL training on the 10th and 11th is from 9-3 not 8-4.
