<\/strong>this past week there was an email that went out about walkie talkies.\u00a0 Providing additional staff with walkie talkies can be very useful but please remember and train towards proper use.\u00a0 At times we have witnessed an overuse and over reliance on these devices.\u00a0 We have also heard confidential information get broadcast out for all ears to hear.\u00a0 So as you move forward with providing more walkie talkies just keep these things in mind.\u00a0 Thanks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UKG Project Update &#8211;<\/strong> The HR\/Business Department will be sending out an email to admin and all BLS staff regarding the UKG Phase One Implementation separately from the weekly blog announcement<strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SLGG Guidance &#8211; We need to ensure that each multilingual family who needs interpretation to participate meaningfully in conferences has a <em>trained, professional<\/em> interpreter available and accessible to them.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interpreters will be tight across the region during conferences, but schools who carefully and proactively coordinate appointments should be able to get every family covered.&nbsp; This will likely mean scheduling your multilingual families <em>first<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember, liaisons and bilingual staff are not intepreters.\u00a0 Our <strong>CAFE <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1UJ8mpMyu-tMAhi9YJ7Y-R1ZkW9qc3OQ3UNP404TmwEc\/edit?usp=sharing\">Program<\/a><\/strong> will be up and running shortly before conferences (we&#8217;re in the final stages of ensuring qualifications and training\u2014Kinsey will get you names soon).\u00a0 However, aim to tap these bilingual staff members for emergencies, walks-ins, and no-shows, rather than for pre-planned and scheduled appointments.\u00a0 Please coordinate with your Language Specialist to chunk &#8216;interpreter-needed&#8217; appointments into blocks to the extent possible, and submit those blocks via Linguist Link asap.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Kinsey re: Bias Incidents <\/strong>&#8211;
