The challenge is done through an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goosechase.com\/\">online app<\/a> with quick learning challenges worth points. To participate, staff need to download the Goosechase <a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/app\/goosechase\/id437330879\">iOS<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.goosechaseadventures.goosechase\">Android<\/a> app, either sign up for an account or participate as a guest and join the challenge with your schools <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1e-uKGEzPpuIH01Vxjd1MFXslucqw1L93pt7J9SQ0FxY\/edit\">specific code<\/a>. Use the specific code for your school to access and play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have any specific questions about expanding recycling at your school or education needs, please reach out to Jackie.Mueller@bend.k12.or.us<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Down \u201cthe Drain\u201dand Dirty<\/strong> Not all that goes down the drain should. Many of our schools have had sewer back-ups, most of them due to misuse of the systems. It is important to educate staff and students about our sewer systems and the importance of the \u201cThree P\u2019s\u201d in municipal water systems, pee, poo, and (loo) paper. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Uq9YyzVaF3s&amp;t=85s\">Here is an informative and funny video<\/a> to share with students and staff about keeping our septic running clean found on the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bendoregon.gov\/government\/departments\/utilities\/educational-resources\"> City of Bend\u2019s Educational Resources<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There have also been multiples issues with \u201cflushable wipes.\u201d There are not any wipes truly degrade in water systems and tend to block up pipes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UBXCKTWXWrQ\">Check out this video<\/a> by a local student about keeping flushable wipes out of the toilets. The new menstrual products being flushed are also causing problems. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/ode\/students-and-family\/healthsafety\/Documents\/ODE%20Menstrual%20Dignity%20For%20Students%20Toolkit.pdf?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery\">teach students about these dispensers and HB 3294<\/a>, The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/ode\/students-and-family\/healthsafety\/Documents\/ODE%20Menstrual%20Dignity%20for%20Students_At%20a%20Glance%201-Pager.pdf\">Mensural Dignity Act<\/a>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1tCnGNH_7W5xZfVb0o3wPLp72nap7YGUPmmD57VXOIyw\/edit?usp=sharing\">this short presentation.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day <\/strong> On <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">November 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/span>, students can recognize and celebrate the legacy of <a href=\"https:\/\/rubybridges.foundation\/#walk-to-school-day\">Ruby Bridges <\/a>by walking to school on November 14<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Bear Creek and Juniper Elementary Families can meet at Juniper Park and walk to school with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commuteoptions.org\/RBWTSD\/\">Commute Options<\/a> to show support for social justice, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in BLS schools.
