{"id":858,"date":"2023-02-02T17:58:33","date_gmt":"2023-02-03T00:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/skip.offenhauser\/?p=858"},"modified":"2023-02-02T21:19:06","modified_gmt":"2023-02-03T04:19:06","slug":"february-2-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/skip.offenhauser\/2023\/02\/02\/february-2-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>February 2, 2023<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This week we have several announcements from HR\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UKG Site Maintenance <\/strong>&#8211; In preparation for our anticipated Go Live date of February 13, staff will not be able to access UKG features starting on February 2nd.&nbsp; This will allow our implementation team to perform site maintenance and users (except a select few) won&#8217;t have access to any UKG functionality.&nbsp; Attempts to login between February 2nd and the 13th, will receive the following message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/0ItKcGNwdvjlwPiuwYB_AgFzpdUBS1BREmX626thzddxCNb0q_BjSiNETuUdW79ss7d7PNC4I2h1IaDJqcXBLVAzD_HmzVgs33Y2EuYh5z36pKdWhfGsfOj2tBxg08FcUs3dmHBaXUUuO3tCx649Li0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UKG Recruitment Trainings &#8211;<\/strong> Thank you to North Star and Mountain View for hosting our first two trainings.&nbsp; We are still editing the powerpoint to reflect administrator feedback.&nbsp; Prior to February 13th, we will share the powerpoint with all admin and office managers.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1yZP85njW4U1KISokJVDx7qkBhrttQCss2oP4wd41ffM\/edit?usp=sharing\">Admin\/Supervisor In Person Sign Up Link<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tue 2\/7 &#8211; In Person Recruiting\/HRIS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9:30 &#8211; 11 am @ Silver Rail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 pm &#8211; 3:30 pm @HDMS&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fri 2\/10 &#8211; In Person Recruiting\/HRIS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9:30 &#8211; 11 am @ LPHS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 pm &#8211; 3:30 pm Virtual (Paul\u2019s Webex Room)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fri 2\/17 &#8211; In Person Recruiting\/HRIS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9:30 &#8211; 11 am @ Ensworth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 pm &#8211; 3:30 pm @ Caldera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Job Postings During Frontline To UKG Transition <\/strong>&#8211; We are attempting to close as many job postings as possible by February 10th so you can screen, interview and hire candidates through Frontline.&nbsp; Positions that are open past February 10th will need to be screened, interviewed and hired through UKG.&nbsp; During the weekend of February 11th\/12th, our UKG implementation team will transition open positions to UKG (you don\u2019t need to do anything) and we\u2019ll copy applicant data over to UKG so that those who applied through Frontline will now have their data within UKG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Time and Leave FAQs <\/strong>&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1itARZwMU2J8KbCBbtCPVw-Ap10nO5atJaAYez7KLByg\/edit?usp=sharing\">Here<\/a> is a document that we will update as new questions arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Classified Job Postings and Hiring Update for Temporary Positions<\/strong> &#8211; We are closely approaching the date when some temporary classified new hires will not be eligible for benefits and be excluded from the bargaining unit because their employment in 2022-23 will be less than 80 days.&nbsp; HR will be editing temporary job postings to reflect this as the less than 80 day employment window ensues (see <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1oiFpmdVw6B8CGZ1v0TJqSigS5014EzFoq3EOzSrd_Xs\/edit?usp=sharing\">this link<\/a> for the impacted jobs and dates).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is very important for administrators\/supervisors involved in offering jobs to new temporary hires after these dates that these prospective employees are aware of the non-benefited status of their position before they accept the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Classified Evaluation <\/strong>&#8211; In a few weeks you&#8217;ll be receiving information from HR identifying the classified employees who need to be evaluated this year.&nbsp; As a reminder, we rotate staff so that they are only required to be evaluated every other year (after their first year probationary period).&nbsp; Temporary employees are not required to be evaluated.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Elementary Horizontal Meetings:&nbsp; <\/strong>We heard you! Prior to winter break, in lieu of another meeting, you had an opportunity to meet in small groups off site to catch up and support each other.&nbsp; While that was well received, it did not necessarily feel like a \u201c bonus\u201d, because we canceled one meeting and replaced it with this get together.&nbsp; Should have been simple math, but we didn\u2019t get it! &nbsp; We get it now\u2014so, instead of 2 meetings in Jan, Feb, and March, we cut it back to one meeting each month (we canceled Jan. 10th and now we are canceling February 14th) and are asking your small group teams to meet <strong>one<\/strong> more time between now and Spring Break.&nbsp; Lisa, Jen, Scott, Patrick, and Kelle will be reaching back out to your teams to organize another\u2013(Scott\u2019s team\u2013 first round of beverages are on us this time since we missed you the last time. \ud83e\udd23) We know the power in connection and collaboration and the sharing of stories and ideas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TLC Update<\/strong> &#8211; Just a reminder to always review <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/elementary-curriculum-instruction\/2023\/02\/01\/february-1st-update\/\">the TLC Update<\/a> for new curriculum and instruction information.&nbsp; One of the many things in this week\u2019s update is directions for teachers to have Lexia reports sent directly to them via email.&nbsp; There\u2019s lots more in there so remember to take a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#f60202\"><strong>The Red Zone &#8211; Things to definitely do or share<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Report card letters &#8211;<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1ikIW6YTistrv8MawxKyTC_Gs6dsqntpn\"><strong>The letters found here<\/strong><\/a> should be sent home with report cards either in paper form or electronically.
