It requires at least three&nbsp;actions by the teacher and&nbsp;<em>could&nbsp;<\/em>take up to a week before the video becomes available to students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Planned Improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teaching staff can submit YouTube videos directly to the allow list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any video submitted by teaching staff will be assumed to be essential for instruction and will not require Ed Tech or administrative review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submitted videos will be available within 30 minutes of submission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will use the same link submitted by the teacher, eliminating the need for teachers to copy and paste embed links.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>This improved method requires only one action by the teacher and could allow the video to be available to the students in as few as thirty minutes.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Potential Enhancements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We are currently researching the ability to automatically scan all Bend-La Pine Schools Canvas courses for YouTube video links and automatically add them to the allow list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This enhancement would significantly reduce the workload for staff who need students to access YouTube content on their iPads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>can<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When staff return in the fall, IT will have a mechanism to collect YouTube links that folks need for instruction. &nbsp;Until then, you might consider keeping a running list of the YouTube \u201cmust have\u201d videos for submission when the tool is ready. &nbsp;Or, do nothing and enjoy a beautiful summer!
