    Training: Change in Plans!          – Action needed –<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In last week’s blog, I asked you to review guidance this fall with your staff regarding email communications and confidential student information.  I\u2019m sure you carefully studied every detail and built your entire inservice schedule around it \ud83d\ude42\u2014so apologies for the change in plans!  But, please pause on that training for now.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    At Leadership Launch, I shared that new state laws require school districts to provide one hour of training for all employees<\/em> on immigration enforcement, ICE activity at school activities, and related policies. Because much of the state\u2019s guidance also addresses confidential student information, we\u2019re going to combine these topics into one required training. This will allow us to cover FERPA and confidentiality in communications and records alongside the new immigration protocols in a more integrated way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We\u2019ll provide the training materials soon, along with a few options for delivery. The one-hour training will include 30 minutes of asynchronous learning and 30 minutes during a staff meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Action needed now: Please reserve 30 minutes at a staff meeting between Sept. 1\u201330. <\/em>More details and materials are coming soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
