We know how important they are for student success, but often overlook their importance for adults. In the next few weeks, reflect on the ways in which you are, or could, clarify expectations with the adults in your school this year. Your schedules should be complete with PE minutes and content areas completed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From HR: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">UKG Data Check<\/span>: We are asking building leaders to confirm that their staff assignments in UKG are correct.\u00a0 You may navigate to your My Team tab, then go to My Saved Reports and Staff Assignments to view your people and positions.\u00a0 If you see something that isn\u2019t accurate, please use the link below. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Please don\u2019t undertake this task until Monday, October 2 and complete\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSffloZL2q4BEYXxIvDze6fss_viv7KoE9SzTH5k4sY2YqWlSg\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\">this google form<\/a>\u00a0with your corrections by Friday, October 6th<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Performance Evaluation Module<\/span>: We are going to use the week of October 2nd to complete our testing (thank you Julie and Sky View MS staff for helping us with this) and then roll out communications regarding the launch of Certified goal-setting, observations and evaluations processes.\u00a0 Certified staff can expect an introductory notification through UKG regarding the launch of Performance by October 6th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Administrative\/supervisor are invited to view the google document\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1nBkDienskb5aTupos_hBJn2p2PdS5z1U3FaRnEXyKjE\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">Performance: Certified Evaluation<\/a>\u00a0to begin to acclimate yourself to this module.\u00a0 It includes short video tutorials.\u00a0 I am scheduled to conduct a Performance training with all administrators on Wednesday, October 25th at Bend Senior High School, but you\u2019ll need to be interacting with this module for Certified goal-setting and Observations prior to the 25th. I will schedule a couple of weekly virtual drop in sessions and advertise those in next week\u2019s blog to assist with any questions that you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From DEI: <\/strong>Here&#8217;s a local<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opb.org\/article\/2023\/09\/25\/albany-oregon-oak-grove-schools-education-discrimination-nonbinary-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\"> story<\/a>\u00a0to share with everyone. The part where it states that the court found that the principal &#8220;knew of the bullying but did not investigate or intervene&#8221; is a good reminder about the critical importance of leaders and staff to use the bias incident reporting and response process appropriately and consistently.\u00a0If you need a refresher, please reach out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">If you haven&#8217;t already, please identify two teachers in your building<\/span>\u00a0(any two 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and\/or 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade teachers) who can attend\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1zSYybsp-kmJGz-dCto_OcMME4D26l7oo7wFy48Jpmys\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">this workshop<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday, October 5<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0Once you&#8217;ve confirmed your two participants, have them register ASAP please (registration form in the link above).\u00a0Administrators are welcome to join.\u00a0 If you can&#8217;t stay all day, the morning portion is recommended, and you&#8217;re welcome to stay for lunch\u2014just please rsvp using the registration form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Safety Site Visits<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0Starting next week, Kayla and I will be visiting one school per week to partner with your administration team to conduct a safety site visit. A few days prior to our visit, you will receive an email from us with the checklist of safety related areas we will be visiting.\u00a0We will typically be at your school for 2-3 hours per site visit. We always welcome you to walk with us during our visits to highlight safety strengths and concerns for your building, but we understand it\u2019s not feasible for you to spend the entire time with us during our visits.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These visits are not a \u201cgotcha\u201d moment, but more of an opportunity for the district safety team to spend time in your schools partnering with you to ensure you have the safest learning environment possible.\u00a0Please reach out to us with any questions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Julie in Curriculum, Instruction and Systems:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Educator Network Day<\/span> on October 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0will be at each school site from 1:45-3:15.\u00a0 The topic will be reflecting and refining foundational skills and planning for community connection, partner up and Wayfinder lessons.\u00a0Admin\/ICCL teams meet on October 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0from 3:00-5:00.
