The training checklist can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1mpEnvABPrY8rzBQaA_xLmPrVocDAMWcvSr4M4byUNjI\/edit\">HERE<\/a> or you can go to the Student services resource site to find all the training details.&nbsp; Ideally this would all occur on their first day on the job.&nbsp; <strong>Also, remember that you can get a 4 hour sub on their first day so you can provide all of your training parts.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"elementToProof\"><span style=\"color: #069670\"><strong>From Jessica Hart<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Staffing Needs Assessment form has become one form instead of two.<br><strong><br>Please use this new form:&nbsp;<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/student-services-resource-site\/policies-and-procedures\/staffing-needs\">https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/student-services-resource-site\/policies-and-procedures\/staffing-needs<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"elementToProof\"><strong>Please delete the 2 outdated forms if you have them saved on your desktop or in a folder.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The form should be filled out one time a year, with the student&#8217;s IEP, for those who would receive 4 points or higher.<\/p>\n<p>Reach out to <strong>April Deihl<\/strong> if you have any questions.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"elementToProof ContentPasted0\">Thank you<\/h3>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<h2><span style=\"color: #00997d\"><strong>ESY Timeline<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1x7oebJN84PDF0gK4Hv_cv4C5PEzdnN_A\/view?usp=sharing\">This ESY Timeline document<\/a> shows this school year&#8217;s dates\/times of ESY as well as when to make your decisions, turn in paperwork, etc.<br>(Watch for future ESY forms in the March blog).<\/h3>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> We will NOT be attached to the TLC Summer Sessions this year, so we will once again be holding it independently in July\/Aug.<\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<h2><span style=\"color: #009985\"><strong>From Shannon Watters<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"x_elementToProof\">Hi all,<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"x_elementToProof\">I got several emails with confusion about what December Child count is and why we do it, so I wanted to provide a little&nbsp;more&nbsp;information.<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"x_elementToProof\">December Child count has three purposes:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\n<ul>\n<li>Federal:\n<ul>\n<li>we report to the U.S. Department of Education and the Oregon Department of Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Fiscal:\n<ul>\n<li>determines the number of students who can generate State School funds for Special Education<\/li>\n<li>we receive funding for up to 11% of our total school population<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Statistical:\n<ul>\n<li>data is used in the Special Education Report card and in SPR&amp;I<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>So, every year, we want to include as many students&nbsp;as possible so we can reach the 11% mark.&nbsp; For the past several years, we have been hovering around 10%.&nbsp; This is why it is so important to get those initials that are due close to the December 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;date completed on or before December 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;and to have all meetings held before December 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;have paperwork finalized.&nbsp;
