We are excited to share that we now have a Public Health Specialist working in EVERY secondary school this year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a short video about Healthy Schools<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, we serve schools as coordinators for Tier 1 initiatives to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Prevent student suicide; substance use; violence; bullying, bias incidents; and risky sex, and 2. Reduce disparities experienced by students who are LGBTQ+, students of color, or low-income\/rural.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We focus on initiatives related to: health education and health communications;  positive, inclusive school culture;  family engagement;  and linkages to resources.  We mostly work with the adults in your schools, but we also work often with student groups to engage them in an advisory capacity or in leading advocacy projects, including Sources of Strength. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
