In State Transfers (Timeline and procedure):<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When your school receives sped records for an instate transfer student, please be sure to follow the following timeline and procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. School Receives Special Education Records<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The special education team looks over records and then forwards them to RCC as soon as possible via email or intra-district mail (electronic is preferable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The Special Education Team needs to <\/mark><\/strong>assign a Case Manager <\/mark><\/em>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The case manager needs to add students to the SE side and build the Team<\/mark><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Records Clerks will upload the transfer IEP into Synergy and email the case manager letting them know it is ready<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. The case manager should hold a meeting within 10 school days<\/mark><\/em> <\/mark><\/strong>to determine if they will accept the transfer IEP as is or will need to write a new one<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. The case manager then needs to send the meeting notes<\/mark><\/em> (needs to indicate if the IEP is being accepted as written or a new IEP will be developed) directly to the records clerk who reviewed the transfer IEP and emailed you the update. *sending in notes from your meeting is a critical step that is often overlooked\/delayed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

     <\/strong>“BIP” is now “PBSP”<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The previous form “Behavior Intervention Plan – BIP” has been replaced with the “Positive Behavior Support Plan – PBSP”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The old form will no longer be accepted<\/mark>;<\/em> the new form located in the process documents is the correct form to be used. Please do not send in attached PDF, word docs, or other documents to upload as a behavior plan. The information should be copied into the new PBSP Synergy form in the student’s current process.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please be sure that the IEP always reflects that there is a Positive Behavior Support Plan indicated under Special Factors and Accommodations.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
