Please take a moment to read this segment celebrating Oregon\u2019s Teacher of the Year.  Mercedes Munuz is a special education teacher at Franklin High School in Portland.  So many great messages in this segment, but this one is my favorite: \u201cSpecial education students are general education students first \u2014 they belong to all of us,\u201d Mu\u00f1oz said. \u201cHow do they learn to be together in society when they leave high school if the whole time, throughout their whole education, they are separated and siloed?\u201d  You all know this and live this work everyday.  It\u2019s nice to have one of our own in the bully pulpit.  Have a great weekend!

On February 12th<\/sup><\/strong>, 2:30p-4p<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 CMS, HDMS, LPMS, TRS, BIS<\/u> will attend a session on writing transition IEP’s in the board room at the education (required to attend on this date). Please sign up in performance Matters. All other middle school teachers please sign up for one of the following in performance matters 1) Board maker 2) OT Sensory 3)Social Stories 4)Top 10 coaching tools for behavior 5) We are modifying, Next Steps.
On March 11th<\/sup><\/strong>, 2:30p-4p<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 PCMS, SVMS, PBMS, REALMS, WVMS<\/u>\u00a0will attend a session on writing transition IEP’s in room 312 at the education center (required to attend on this date). High School Teachers<\/u><\/strong>
All high school teachers will sign up for (in performance matters) and attend one of the following sessions on both February 12th and March 11th<\/sup><\/strong>, <\/strong>2:30p-4p<\/strong>.<\/span>
The sessions will be the same for both dates, so you can attend multiple sessions over the two dates. The sessions will be: 1) Board maker 2) OT Sensory 3)Social Stories 4)Top 10 coaching tools for behavior 5) We are modifying, Next Steps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
