iMessage (Seeing when Read)

by on January 10, 2012 at 3:05 pm

Wouldn’t it be nice to know if somebody has read a message you sent them? Like “I’m going to be home 10 minutes late” or ” I got your message and I will pick up the kids” . Well with iMessage you now have that ability. The option is called Read Receipts, which by default it is off. To turn it on just go into Settings, then find Messages. Once selected you will see “Send Read Receipts”, just toggle the off to on and your done.

A Clean Keyboard

by on January 6, 2012 at 9:02 am

In order to properly disinfect these areas, you should use Lysol Wipes or Clorox Kitchen Disinfecting wipes and follow the general rules below when disinfecting your Apple product.  Note: Do not use excessively damp cleaning wipes. You may need to squeeze the wipe to remove any excess dampness.

  • Be sure to turn off your Mac, unplug the power cord from the wall or power strip, and remove the battery from portables or wireless keyboards and mice, before you start the cleaning process.
  • Use a disinfectant wipe to wipe the area first, then use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth, and finally dry the area with another soft, lint-free cloth.

  • Do not use disinfectant wipes containing bleach or disinfectant sprays in general.
  • Do not use an extremely damp disinfectant wipe to clean the area. If you encounter a very damp wipe it may need to be squeezed to remove some of the excess liquid before use.
  • Do not allow the liquid from the disinfectant wipe to sit or pool on the area being disinfected for a long amount of time.
  • Do not use rough towels or cloths to dry the area.
  • Do not use excess force when disinfecting the area around the keyboard; this could damage the keys.

Siri is a great feature on the new iPhone4s. A nice feature if you spend time in the kitchen is timer. Just tell Siri to set a timer and for how long. It will then begin the timer countdown and alert you when time is up. With it being on the iPhone4s you can carry it anywhere and always hear it unlike the timer that stays in the kitchen.

If you are needing to take a screenshot of something on your iPad or iPhone, it couldn’t be easier. Just hold the Power button and Home button concurrently, you’ll know the screenshot was captured since the screen will flash white. The picture will be stored in the Photos app in the image library.
