BITS AND BOBS

  • Tardy Data:  Thirteen students were tardy four or more times from April 4th through April 11th.  There were six repeat offenders who will serve lunch detention and zero egregious number of tardies.
  • Twenty-six students were tardy four or more times from April 12th through April 18th.  There were ten repeat offenders who will be assigned consequences.  The families for all twenty-six students appear on the tardy report will be contacted.
  • Master Schedule- Paul and I have gathered feedback, ideas, concerns and questions on draft Master Schedule ideas. We will work this weekend to see what adjustments can be made and will have an updated draft of the schedule to all staff by mid-week. Click here to see the themes we have gathered from our conversations over the past several days.
  • Mini Observations: Paul and I are working our way into all advisories for this round of mini observations.  It has been fun to see staff instructing students outside of their typical content area and building human connections and relationships with the group in their advisory class.
  • Bell Schedule: We have a draft of a new bell schedule created for next year. Your ICCL liaison will be reaching out to gather your input on where it is best to have lunches fall.
  • PD opportunity related to Equity:

There is a free 30 day, self-paced, on line course from Rachel Elizabeth Cargle.

The goal of this course is to become more self-aware, prepared to be an ally for people of color, and informed about other social justice topics.  The intent of this course it to push people (esp. white women) to an uncomfortable place with some of these topics.  She has received some strong feedback from the Bend community after speaking at Muse and TedxBend.  At this point, Lynne and Cathy have signed up and will be available if you want to talk through thoughts and feelings that may come up!  I support setting aside some SIW time for anyone who enrolls in this course to meet, discuss, and process.
