QUOTE OF THE WEEK
From a parent of a new-to-HDMS 8th grader (and teacher in our district):
“For the first time in a VERY, VERY long time, he just cannot wait to get up for school in the morning every day. I can’t thank your team enough for the positive atmosphere and for making him feel at home. He loves everything about being a Diamondback!”
TO DOs
- Make sure you have created a one page handout to have available for open house. This document should outline your story as a teacher, classroom expectations, classroom procedures and your contact information.
- If you are in need of a door magnet, please email Kerri. She will gather names and get another order placed shortly.
CONTINUED CULTURE OF CARE PD

In the second video segment, you’ll learn about another very important theme: Your explanation guides your intervention. Restated, your explanation for a kid’s is challenging behavior has major implications for how you’ll try to help. If you believe a kid is challenging because of lagging skills and unsolved problems, then rewarding and punishing may not be the ideal approach. Solving those problems and teaching those skills would make perfect sense. Watch Now
