Dec. 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Holiday Staff Party 5:30pm<\/li>\n<li>(Please see Wendy if you are interested in hosting!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>BITS AND BOBS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultural Conversation Club:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The DI student council decided to start a &#8220;Club de cultura y conversaci\u00f3n.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is aimed at any Diamondback who speaks, or is learning, Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to provide additional opportunities for using and practicing Spanish in the school community (DI students wanted more Spanish time besides\u00a0their two courses, and also\u00a0wanted to be inclusive of bilingualism in all its stages or paths, beyond the DI setting).<\/p>\n<p>At each meeting, we will watch a short video of a cultural topic or current event,\u00a0and then discuss (en espa\u00f1ol).<\/p>\n<p>The first meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 7th during 7th\/8th grade lunch.\u00a0 Students should bring their lunch&#8211;cookies will be provided.\u00a0 The DI student council\u00a0will analyze participation and feedback before setting remaining dates.<\/p>\n<p>Please promote with your kids, and\/or\u00a0attend yourself&#8211;adults are welcome!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for supporting bilingualism at HDMS<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REMINDERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Google Codes for this year:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HDMS Staff:\u00a0kil6yg<\/p>\n<p>HDMS Students:\u00a0z8p8l5<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Print Shop:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1uV52ZG7cTGFrbwP0InRIJD4Dldhvuf9t\/view?usp=sharing\">Click here<\/a> to see a combined report for all schools showing impressions and costs for the convenience copiers, printer fleet, and print shop from 7\/1\/2018 to 9\/30\/2018. Please remember to use Print Shop whenever you can, as this is the most cost-efficient way to produce copies and HDMS gets a percentage of money \u201ckicked back\u201d when we use this service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Active\u00a0Threat\u00a0Training Opportunity<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bend Police and Bend Fire professionals, in partnership with 9-1-1 and other first responding agencies to crisis situations, for an\u00a0active\u00a0threat training on\u00a0<strong>November 13, 14, 15 or 19 at Elk Meadow Elementary School from 7-10 p.m. nightly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for approximately 40 \u201cplayers\u201d for each night\u2019s training. Participants will see first-hand how emergency personnel respond to\u00a0active\u00a0threats in schools in several live scenarios throughout the evening.
