BITS & BOBS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week I wanted to share a video with you<\/a>\nregarding \u201cpraising\u201d students<\/strong>. The idea of fostering mindsets is not a\nnew topic or one that you necessarily will find new learning from after\nwatching this video, but I think it does a great job of reminding us what type\nof praise is most (and least) effective with students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just wanted to remind you that a training has been added to\nPerformance Matters.  It is\nentitled Youth\nMental Health 1st Aid<\/a> and has been taught a few times in\nthe past. In this course, participants will learn about the unique risk factors\nand warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, build an\nunderstanding of the importance of early intervention, and given ideas of how\nto help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some changes have been made to the Field Trip process<\/strong>. Please make\nsure you make yourself familiar with these\nchanges<\/a>. Here is the NEW\nField Trip Permission Slip form<\/a>. Please use this form for all trips,\nfrom now on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tardy Data:  Ten students were tardy four or\nmore times from February 8th through February 14th.  There were 6\nrepeat offenders who will serve lunch detention and zero egregious tardies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All students\nappearing on this report for the first time received a written notice\nwith their specific tardy data; additionally, their family\nwas notified of this warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
