{"id":475,"date":"2019-08-30T21:52:03","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T21:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/wendy.mcculloch\/?p=475"},"modified":"2019-09-11T20:29:03","modified_gmt":"2019-09-11T20:29:03","slug":"8-30-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/wendy.mcculloch\/2019\/08\/30\/8-30-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"8.30.2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FAQ&#8217;s for the week of Sept 4, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As always, most any question that you have can be answered\nby (a) asking a colleague or ICCL, (b) looking at the blog or (c) viewing the\nstaff google classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>First 3 advisory days with students<\/strong><ul><li>Support session in room D1 on Tuesday 10 am.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>See <a href=\"https:\/\/classroom.google.com\/c\/Mjc2NzMzNDg2NFpa\">Staff Google Classroom<\/a> for all documents needed for these first three advisory lessons (class code: kil6yg).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Staff id badges<\/strong><ul><li>Please see Kerri Green to get your updated orange sticker for this school year.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>First day schedule distribution<\/strong><ul><li>In the morning, please tell all 7\/8<sup>th<\/sup> grade students to report to their advisory classrooms by 8:45. &nbsp;(Their advisory teachers &amp; locations are nearly identical to last year: see <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/14jhvwdjWf-EQAFZDfZFM-KeJyGqFGKdUqDkaeCNsjE0\/edit?usp=sharing\">this link<\/a> for advisory teachers and locations.) <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>6<sup>th<\/sup> graders will be handed their schedule during Tuesday\u2019s orientation day.&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Please direct all 6<sup>th<\/sup> grade students to the gym on Wednesday morning<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>If you teach a 6<sup>th<\/sup> grade advisory this year please be in the gym first thing to meet and greet our 6<sup>th<\/sup> graders and hand out their schedules.&nbsp; Once the 8:45 bell rings you can then walk back to your classroom with your 6<sup>th<\/sup> grade students and begin team building.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Lockers<\/strong><ul><li>We\nhave a handful of students who don\u2019t have lockers.&nbsp; If you know of a student that would do better\nwithout a locker and you can support them using your room\/office as their\nlocker\/check in time please talk with that student and send their name to Stacy\nso we can reassign that locker.&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Brettney will be the support person for all students\nwho don\u2019t yet have a locker assigned. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Schedule change protocol<\/strong><ul><li>Students who have concerns regarding their schedule can come to the Main Office during passing or lunch to fill out a \u201cschedule change request form\u201d with Gina. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd4qZUmY4YlV6OnyIQftV6QxIarQVHdxHNatnyoiuktrKvqTg\/viewform\">digital form<\/a> that will be posted to the Student Google Classroom, that students can use once they have their iPad activated. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>iPad set up details<\/strong><ul><li>Social studies department will walk all HDMS students through the set-up procedures on Thursday.<\/li><li>Anytime after Thursday please ensure that all students have access to the HDMS Student Classroom (code: rzp8ox)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Student Handbook<\/strong><ul><li>Due to time constraints we were unable to share some slight language changes to the cell phone\/headphone policy.&nbsp; We will address\/clarify these adjustments are our first staff meeting.&nbsp; Please make sure you are aware of these changes (on page 19 of <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1vgTGmtkXXX1LUG1gbX7fwtUl0-fFw3LE\">student handbook<\/a>) when teaching students our HDMS policies.&nbsp;
