Wellbeing&#8221;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>30:<\/strong> 7th Grade Class Meeting,&nbsp;<ul><li>6\/8th Grade Digital Citizenship &#8220;Media Balance &amp; Wellbeing&#8221;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>November<\/strong> <strong>6:<\/strong> 6th Grade Class Meeting,&nbsp;<ul><li>7\/8th Grade Digital Citizenship &#8220;Media Balance &amp; Wellbeing&#8221;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The advisory team strives to\nensure that advisory lessons are easily accessible for staff (to avoid the need\nto plan for another prep) while still being in-depth and meaningful for our\nstudents.&nbsp; This year&#8217;s Digital Citizenship lessons have been updated through\nCommon Sense Media.&nbsp; You can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commonsense.org\/education\/digital-citizenship\/curriculum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this link<\/a> to access the lessons (you&#8217;ll need to\nsign in using your gapps account).&nbsp; The lessons will take two advisory\nclass periods.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the lesson resources\nare so in-depth, we&#8217;ve also tried to pare it down to the essentials (slideshow,\nstudent handout(s), lesson quiz, and family resources) which can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1jpDyavK3TfIwWcrT_eqc3nPnjcR9LB7c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp; One of us will be there<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BITS AND BOBS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Our 1st and 2nd-year teachers, district wide, are attending workshops around <strong>Disciplinary Literacy<\/strong>. I think <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1_kQDWI_Da5-nGwI0_1U_9oubm02wyeSc\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">this article<\/a> provides a great definition and understanding of what, exactly, Disciplinary Literacy actually is, as well as providing some great content-specific examples. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I have seen several &#8216;all staff emails&#8217; asking staff to look for a specific students lost items, such as; lunch box, i pad, notebook etc&#8230; This is not necessarily a sustainable system.&nbsp; I wonder if these opportunities would be good practice for our students to advocate and problem solve with you as the adult but then they have to do some of the work to retrace their steps, chat with their teachers etc&#8230;instead of &#8216;all staff emails&#8217;
