Hello Westside Village Families!
Here are a few things to look out for this week:

Dec 12 2nd Six Week Celebration & Winter Solstice Performances, 4:30pm
Dec 15 Winter Solstice Party (during the school day)
Dec 18-Jan 1No School – Winter Break (See you back on Jan 2!)
Boys Basketball
Dec 06 WVMS @ Three Rivers, 5pm
Dec 11 Bend Int’l @ WVMS, 5pm
Dec 13 WVMS @ Sky View Middle School, 6pm
We had a fabulous time at the winter bazaar! Our students worked hard marketing and selling their products. We also had some incredible student and parent volunteers helping at our WVMS booth selling concessions and crafts. Thank you so much to everyone who participated, attended and supported!

Join us for our annual Winter Solstice Celebration! There will be crafts/games, food, a parent meeting, and a quick performance. We encourage families to attend to see what your students have been working on and to connect with other families. It will be at WVMS Tuesday, December 12th from 4:30-6:30pm.
We’d like to kick off our new year with a trip to the High Desert Museum. We will take our entire Village to the museum! It is important to get permission slips signed and returned BEFORE winter break. Be on the lookout for them soon! If your student will not be here on that day, please let us know.
Please, please come take a look! We want you to have your things back! Any items that are not claimed by 4:00pm on December 15th will be donated. Lost and Found is located in the front office lobby.

Get ready to join the festivities at the Winter Bazaar Saturday, Dec 2

Students are excited about working at the bazaar, selling their own goods and/or helping our school with community projects. All students are learning how to develop a business plan in math. This requires a lot of higher level thinking and skill application.
Many students will be bringing home permission slips to either sell their own product or help sell school concessions and products. If your child does not bring home a slip, encourage them to participate. Also, all students will have an opportunity to participate in getting ready for the bazaar.
If students are working on their own product, Thanksgiving break is a great time to encourage your students to work on their projects.
We need parent volunteers!
This event takes a lot of coordination to get off the ground and we would love some help from our generous community on Friday afternoon before the event and throughout the day on Saturday, December 2. Scan the code to check out what we need most help with. As always, you can also reach out to Ms. Alice directly at 415-516-5074.

The Winter Bazaar is just around the corner which means that student and professional booths are available to rent!
Westside Village families, we are so excited to announce that we are beginning to work on our Winter Bazaar! This is sponsored by Friends of Westside Village, our nonprofit organization. The event will take place at school on December 2nd in our Great Room.
What is the Winter Bazaar? It is a creative and sustainable Gift Market for children, professional artists and craftspeople to sell and promote their products. Students at the Village can express their creativity, learn how to form a business, and promote sustainability and their products.
Families are encouraged to buy a table to sell their products. Students may also buy a table to sell their products with parent permission. The cost of a table is $30.00.
At school, all students will have an opportunity to participate in creating a school project or baked goods to promote connection to our earth and each other. A team of elders will organize who is running the school booths and leading the creation of school products. All children will be included, however, not everyone needs to be at the event.
If you buy a table to sell your own product, please stay away from baked goods because the students of WVMS are doing that. All baked products will be done in a professional kitchen.
More information will come out as we get closer to the Bazaar, but feel free to call the office with any questions (541-355-2000).
