Dental Screening 9\/19<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Advantage Dental will be at our school this Thursday, September 19th to provide dental services free of charge<\/strong>.  Consent forms came home with students and they are available in the office.  If you do not wish to have your student screened, there is no need to complete the form.  ONLY students that bring back a completed form asking for services will be screened\/serviced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goal Setting Conferences 9\/19-9\/27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Westside Village starts off the school year with Goal Setting Conferences.  These are student-parent-teacher conferences.  Call the office to schedule if you haven\u2019t already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Picture Day is 9\/27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Smile!\u00a0 Dorian Studios will be at our school for fall pictures on Friday, September 27th.\u00a0 All students will be photographed.\u00a0 Order forms went home and are available in the office, or you can order online.\u00a0 Find more information HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iPad Insurance (6th – 8th)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

iPad insurance\u00a0 (6th-8th graders) can be paid online by going to the district website Parent Tools page<\/a> and clicking FEES AND FINES.\u00a0 Username is your Student\u2019s 6 digit ID number and password is your Student\u2019s last name (Upper case first letter).\u00a0 The cost is $30 per school year and there is a family cap of $60. Payment can also be made by cash, check or card in the office.\u00a0 iPad insurance is not required, but strongly encouraged.\u00a0 Insurance cannot be purchased after an iPad is damaged.\u00a0 iPad insurance does not cover a lost iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photo Opt-Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the school year we enjoy taking pictures of our students doing awesome things! These are used for school-only slide shows and sometimes to post on our social media pages.  We never share names of students.  If you wish that your student\u2019s photo not be shared, please email Ms. Marcie or call the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When to Keep Your Student Home<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As cooler weather approaches we can expect a rise in illnesses. Please click here<\/a> to familiarize yourself with health information and the district’s guidelines for keeping students home when sick. Some common guidelines to know are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fever:<\/strong> Temperature equal to or greater than 100.4 \u00b0 F orally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAY RETURN AFTER fever-free for 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vomiting:<\/strong> At least 1 episode that is unexplained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAY RETURN AFTER 48 hours after last episode of vomiting OR after seen and cleared by a licensed healthcare provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diarrhea:<\/strong> Three or more watery or loose stools in 24 hours OR sudden onset of loose stools OR student unable to control bowel function when previously able.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAY RETURN AFTER 48 hours after diarrhea resolves OR after seen and cleared by a licensed healthcare provider OR LPHA for specific diarrheal diagnoses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Session 1 Extended Care, Clubs, Sports Signups Closed Friday 9\/13. Drop In Still Available<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visit\u00a0www.friendsofwestside.com<\/a> to sign up for Drop in Extended Care. Session 1 closed Friday, September 13th. If you need a scholarship, please fill out an application and get your paperwork to the front office asap.
