Village Council Meeting<\/strong>, Feb 26<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Please join us to come together and talk about planning and organizing a fantastic and educational spring for our students. We need volunteers for skiing, our FUNraiser, a trip to the High Desert, library, garden, clubs, track, and more! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the Date: Village Rhythm and Bingo<\/strong> is Apr 24<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our annual FUN-raiser is right around the corner! It is a really great event that is produced in collaboration with WVMS staff, students, and Friends of Westside Village.  The event on April 24th at the Unitarian Church,  includes appetizers, dinner, beverages, bingo, and lots of prizes! Also, there is free babysitting at school! Ali, one of our incredible volunteer parents, is leading the event. Below is a message from her:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VRB Committee Unite!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s time to hit the ground running and get donations for our annual FUN-raiser happening April 24th, and we need your help! Looking for people to help us gather donations from the community for our raffle packages. If you would like to participate in some way, please email wvmsfundraising.ali@gmail.com. We will be meeting leading up to the event, so stay tuned\u2026. Thank you all in advance for your help with this wonderful event and we look forward to seeing you next week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8th Grade Fly Up Day<\/strong>, Mar 3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, March 3rd, our 8th grade students will have the opportunity to visit their forecasted high school to participate in a Career and Technical Education Fly-Up Day. The goal of this day is to get students into their high school to learn about the many options they will have next year. Buses will leave at 9:30 and return at 12:30. Permission slips are going home soon and can also be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter Adventures (Cross Country Skiing), Mar 5-14<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cross Country Ski trips are coming up March 5th-7th and March 12th-14th. Stay tuned for more info about which groups are going which days.\u00a0 We try to get every student out to ski at Virginia Meissner at least twice!\u00a0 Permission slips will go home soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choice Options Lottery is Open<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visit this link<\/a> for more information. If you know of any families that would be a good fit, send them our way! We will have one more Info Night: March 6th (Tour at 5:15, Info Session at 5:30)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember that all incoming siblings of Westside students MUST complete an application.  Current Westside Village students do not need to re-apply.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lottery for 1st-12th grade has closed, but applications are still being accepted. The lottery for Kindergarten will close on March 21st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry into the Choice Options lottery, Dual Immersion lottery, and Priority Area Change Requests all require a current enrollment in a Bend-La Pine School for the school year requested. Enrollment for the 2025-2026 is open.

2024-25 Oregon Statewide Tests (OSAS)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This school year our 3rd through 8th grade students will take the Oregon Statewide Tests. Parents have the right to opt their child out of the English Language Arts and\/or the Math tests. We have made it a mission to be creative and smart about how we administer the OR Statewide Tests. We are not going to make students sit for hours at a time testing; we are going to offer them fun snacks, breaks when needed, and all the support we can give. We would like to take this opportunity to turn this challenge into a fun and meaningful experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
