Beginning Monday, October 6th, five videos corresponding with activities on the worksheet that student brought home will be available for viewing at the websites listed below.\u00a0 Watch the five videos online or during the KTVZ news at 6:30AM or PM each day for information to help complete the worksheet.\u00a0 Return the worksheets to the office to receive a coupon for a FREE McDonald\u2019s ice cream cone!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Six Week Celebration, Oct 16 4:30-6:00<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Join us for our first Six Week Celebration of the year on Thursday, October 16th from 4:30 to 6:00 at WVMS.  This is a great time to connect with staff and other families, see what your students have been working on, enjoy a meal and see a performance.  You\u2019ll also find out what it means to be a Title 1 school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camp Tamarack Outdoor School (5th Graders), Oct 20-22<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our 5th grade students will be headed to Camp Tamarack Outdoor School Monday, October 20th to Wednesday, October 22nd.\u00a0 Permission slips and information came home this week and is available below. Please return by Friday, Oct 10th<\/strong> if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NO SCHOOL Days in October, November<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Oct 29-Oct 31:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NO SCHOOL for District Conference Days. Westside Village will be closed for all Westside students, K-8, these three days. We do our conferences earlier in the school year, so there will be no conferences for Westside families these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends of WVMS is offering camp for these days.  Sign up through Bend Parks and Rec!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 11:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NO SCHOOL in observation of the Veterans’ Day holiday. We would like to give our thanks to those that have and continue to serve our country. Thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 24-28:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NO SCHOOL for Thanksgiving break. We hope you are able to enjoy some time with your loved ones, rest, and get outside in nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drop Off\/Pick Up Safety<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Families, to keep our students safe, we ask that students please use the crosswalk if crossing the road. Please do not stop in the road and have your student meet you at your car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, if you are pulling up to the curb in our parking lot, please remember that this is meant for quick drop off\/pickup. If you plan to get out of your car for any length of time, please find a parking spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iPad Insurance for 6th-8th <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

iPad insurance is still available, but iPads must be inspected at school before insurance can be purchased. Payment must be made by cash or check in the office.  iPad insurance is not required, but strongly encouraged.  Insurance cannot be purchased after an iPad is damaged.  iPad insurance does not cover a lost iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soccer Balls Needed<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We would love more soccer balls! If you have any or know of anyone that might, send them our way please!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthy Tech Pledge to Delay Smartphone & Social Media<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our Central Oregon Well Wired organization (www.wellwired.org<\/a>) is inviting families to sign a Healthy Tech Pledge to delay the use of smartphones and social media. They will be creating a list of Family Healthy Tech Pledgers at each school in BLP, so you can start connecting with other families. It’s much easier to choose basic tech and for kids to feel included when we join together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you need a scholarship, please fill out an application and get your paperwork to the front office asap. Once you are approved you will receive a code that is valid for the whole year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
