First Six Week Celebration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Join us for our first Six Week Celebration on Thursday, 10\/19. Doors open at 4:30 Community\/Title 1 Meeting at 5:30, and a short performance at 6:00. We will fire up our pizza oven for a taste of Westside which will be served between 5:00-6:00.  This is a time to connect with teachers, other families, join a community meeting, and see what your students have been learning and doing during the first several weeks of the school year.  Also learn about what it means to be a Title 1 school. We hope to see you there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We have our schedule ready for our trip to the Smith Rock Pumpkin Patch! Our Elder leaders will pair up with their reading buddies for this adventure on the 19th. Check for a permission slip from your student or download it here<\/a>.  Youngers and Olders will go on the 24th.  Look out for a permission slip this week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Session 2 Clubs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Session 2 Clubs are open, sign up here!<\/a> We have a lot of new options this time, including improv, jewelry, Ki Aikido, and pokemon! Clubs will run from October 23rd-December 8th. There are options Monday-Friday! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harvest Celebration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
It is almost time for our harvest celebration which takes place during school on Tuesday, October 31st. This is always a very fun day filled with costumes, sweet treats and of course a fun run! Students will rotate through many fun and festive activities including face painting, crafting, coding, cooking and more.

A few things to note about the harvest celebration:<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Students are welcome to dress in costumes and need to be appropriate for all. Please no scary, gory or cultural appropriation.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Please do not send small pieces as they inevitably get lost throughout the business of the day.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 All students will participate in a costume fun run, please send your student with comfortable shoes.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
– We encourage upcycled and homemade costumes.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Winter Bazaar<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Reserve your professional table<\/a> for the Winter Bazaar Saturday, December 2, 2023! Adult professional space is $30 and student professional spaces are $15. This event is sponsored by Friends of Westside Village, our nonprofit organization.  This event is a creative and sustainable Gift Market for children, professional artists and craftspeople to sell and promote their products and connect with the community. All students have school opportunities to create crafts and baked goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firewood Donations Needed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We could use more firewood for our oven in the garden.  If you have any firewood or non-treated, non-painted wood that you would like to donate, we would appreciate it!  Please call the office to arrange a drop off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
