What’s Happening?!- We are going all in beginning Monday, April 5. K-5 students will all be here M-F during our regularly scheduled school hours. This obviously has significant logistical impacts for us. Below is my best attempt to summarize these for you given the information that I have available. As is the standard for the last 13 months, EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT THE WHIM OF OFFICIALS IN SALEM. Stay tuned.
Calendar/Conferences- There is a lot up in the air re: conferences. I should be getting more information within the next day or two. We do know
- There will be NO SCHOOL this Thursday, April 1 and Friday, April 2.
- There will be NO WINN SCHOOL for 4th and 5th graders this Wednesday, March 30. K-3 will have an SIW schedule this Wednesday.
- More info to come. Sorry as things are moving…
Schedule- With the return of all 4th and 5th graders, our current specials schedule will not work. We are working to get it revised with as little impact to your daily routine as possible. Please know that there are must do’s and may do’s. We will be sure to address all of the must do’s and then do our best to keep the positives of the schedule. We will share it as soon as it is complete. As always, I’m open (understanding the short turn around time) to revisions as long as ALL those impacted give your revision a thumbs up.
Desks/Tables- We will be switching out some primary desks for tables. We will then move the desks to the 4th and 5th grade rooms so that they have enough desks for all students. We will be doing the moving of tables/desks on Thursday and Friday of this week.
Staffing- We received our staffing allocations for next year. My job in the very near future is to submit a staffing plan based on those allocations. That sometimes means we may have to do some rearranging, moving, etc. within staff. So, I would like your help. Please take some time in the next week or so (April 7 deadline… if you turn it in the 8th or 9th, I’ll still look at it) to complete a staff interest sheet. It wasn’t formatting correctly in my google docs, so I’ll email a copy to you soon. I have always used a similar version of these to help with staffing especially when changes are necessary. Thank you for taking the time to complete it. And, as I said before, if you want to chat about staffing and what that means for you next year, please don’t hesitate to find me and we’ll set up a time to talk.
