K–2 Waypoints Assessments Instructions:

  • The custom Waypoints formative assessments for K–2 teachers will open April 28th. Here are the 6 questions you will be asked in the Wayfinder app.
  • You’ll find them listed in your “To Do List” on your Wayfinder Teacher Page as “2026 K End of Year,” “2026 1st End of Year,” etc. Each includes only six questions aligned to the Life and Career Readiness priority standards reflected on the progress report. These are educator observed Waypoints and they are not on student iPads.
  • Tip:  Have a class list with questions listed across the top.  Think about students who might fall into the sometimes (2-developing) or rarely/never (1-beginning) category.  Use this rubric to observe these students first. Then use professional judgement and observation to consider where the rest of your class is in their development.   In addition, when teaching Wayfinder lessons, notice which lessons are focused on the priority standards and observe how students respond to the corresponding lessons.
  • These questions will close on May 22nd and will no longer be accessible for a teacher to complete. .

3-5 Waypoints Assessment Instructions:

The final summative assessment opens April 28th and closes May 22nd

  • 3-5 Implementation Guide

The assessment for students takes 15 to 20 minutes and can be completed on a student’s iPad, using Clever and then selecting Wayfinder. Here are instructions for how it will appear in Student View.
  • For students in grades 3–5: When they log in to the Wayfinder platform, the Waypoints assessment will be clearly visible at the top of their dashboard. It will appear as a box containing the assessment’s name with a “Start” button next to it.

Students can leave and return to the assessment at any time, as their progress is automatically saved.
