TO DO:

Looking forward to your help at the March for Students Wednesday, May 8! At our HS Principal meeting, we assigned “duties” for the event
Bend Ed Center at 2:30: Ice Cream Scoopers:  Mike, Jay E., Gabe, Karen, Susie and Matt. Bottled water movers and distributers:  Sal, Michael, Roger, Chris and Reno

La Pine Chamber : Matt and Anne Marie represent!

Process for selecting Valedictorian and Salutatorian: Our district practice is for the high schools to announce the Val and Sal for their schools on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend – this year that is May 24. A couple of weeks prior to May 24, principals should ask each teacher of your top five seniors to project their grades for their classes. Put those grades into Synergy then run the class rankings again. Select your top two according to weighted GPA to the hundredth. If you have questions about this, give me a call. It is a big deal to many families and we want to be consistent.

Information:

At our HS Principal meeting this week, we talked about the video viewing guidelines recently updated in EEACCA AR. We agree that training and a HS admin discussion focused on the use of our cameras in conjunction with some training in leading staff and student investigations would be appreciated. Rather than a REID Interview training, the team requests time with Jon, Debbie, Julianne and perhaps district legal to talk about best practices and scenarios. Here is the Investigation Guidelines doc we used at MV when facilitating investigations into student alleged misconduct.

Please read through this information from DHS regarding how to make Abuse Reports on their hotline. Please share with your staff, as needed.

Calendar:

May 8- March for Students

May 24 – Val and Sal announced at each school

May 27- Memorial Day- No School

May 31 – HS Principals Mtg
