Summer Reading with Deschutes Public Library

Summer with the Library

If you haven’t signed up for the Summer Reading Program at Deschutes Public Library, there is still time! Grab your library card, and open the App Store on your phone or iPad, and search for Beanstack Tracker (it’s a free reading challenge app). Download the app, and join using your library card number. Log your reading or listening minutes to earn virtual badges. Once you earn three badges, you can win prizes (puppets for ages 0-5; Kindle Fires for ages 6-11, and Amazon gift cards for 12-adult). Also, readers/listeners will also receive participation bags in August. If you prefer joining straight from your computer, just go to: www.deschuteslibrary.org/calendar/summer/

All branches are now open for limited browsing, book returns, and hold pick-ups. There are also pre-recorded story times and other programs you can check out at: www.deschuteslibrary.org/calendar

Have a great summer!

Summer Reading Lists

Need a great summer read? Check out one of these lists for inspiration! All of these books are available online at the Deschutes Public Library, www.dpls.overdrive.com. You do need a public library card to checkout a book; if you do not want to load it onto a Kindle, but want to read it on your computer or iPad, check out the book, then instead of choosing “Read now on Kindle”, click right below on “Having Trouble?” and choose “Read Now in Browser”.

You can access all the lists from any Grade link above; lists work best when accessed from Google Chrome.
