STAFF MEETINGS, COLLABORATIVE PLANNING, AND SHARED LEADERSHIP
Hey all – I am trying to make tweaks and revisions to our planning and collaborative time together to honor the newly negotiated union agreements and also provide time for us to engage in collaborative planning. I WANT YOU, OUR STAFF TO HAVE A VOICE IN IMPORTANT DECISIONS WE MAKE THAT WILL IMPACT STUDENTS (AND YOU!). Examples of decisions in which your voice matters are things like:
- hybrid schedule and/or increased LIPI
- intensives
- student led conferences OR other family outreach efforts
That said, I have revised our staff meeting plan to try and make it more efficient and effective, and to maximize your personal planning time while maintaining some collaboration time.
HERE IS OUR REVISED STAFF MEETING PLAN EFFECTIVE THIS WEEK (and screenshot below). I HAVE SHARED AND RECEIVED FEEDBACK ON THIS FROM OUR ICCL TEAM.
- You will see that I have removed Words on Wednesdays and shifted it to the 2nd half of Crew on Mondays. We can’t keep doing WoW once our Wednesday LIPI groups start! I know this will require some Crew lesson shuffling, AND I hope it will also reduce the Crew lesson planning load a little for you.
- I have also shifted our Students of Concern meeting to Wednesdays at noon in order to do two things… to give the meeting 45 minutes instead of 30 (which feels important) and to piggy back it onto a day where we are already meeting together in order to protect a little more prep time for you on Tuesday afternoons.
- Lastly – I am keeping the two hour SW time as completely teacher directed (as required) until after November 11th.
- We will stick with this meeting schedule until at least the week of November 11th

THIS WEEK’S WEDNESDAY ALL STAFF MEETING AGENDA
- 1:30 – Erica Hoiness will share a little about the LEAD Cohort. This is a District initiative on guiding classroom conversations about anti-racism and equitycand they have asked to present to us for 10-15 min.
- 1:45 – Seelig and Pear Deck
- 2:00 – 2:30 – Small Teams:
- Intensives (and then SLC’s) Planning Team (RW/JR/AS/KLL)
- Crew Lesson Planning Team (MH/KA/KT/BH/AT)
- LIPI-Hybrid Schedule Planning Team (ZH/HD/BD/YLW)
- These three small teams will have at least 30-40 minutes to meet together each Wednesday for the next THREE WEEKS. The facilitators will come with agendas to try and move the work fwd efficiently!
STUDENTS OF CONCERN THIS WEEK
Any new input on Students of Conern this week? If so – please add your input onto THIS TAB of our SOC sheet by Wednesday morning.
Keeping track of our interventions and actions for the “Tier 3 kids” that we staffed last week? Please take a peek at the interventions tab on our SOC Sheet and/or tasks you have been assigned for the Tier 3 students. Are we moving forward with the interventions planned?
