Big Ups!
Yen-Ling, Anita, and Heidi for coordinating Better World Day! This was a complex event, and it wouldn’t have been successful without your clear guidance and leadership. Many more of you were involved in making this happen, and we appreciate you as well!
Here are just a couple photos from the Arnold Cave clean up group – more to come!

In Eric’s Words…
Rubbish Renewed raises around $20K for our school to do fieldwork, intensives, electives,… and we are in danger of having them find another organization to partner with in future years, so it would be great to increase our support both as a show of appreciation and because this event is SUPER FUN – it really feels much more like a community event/party than a school function (because it is), plus we get to see some of our amazing students and alumni strutting their design-stuff on stage!
Clarification on Intensives Preps (RHS)
Last week I wrote that we “really can’t offer timesheets for missed preps.” I want to clarify that there are some situations in which we really can’t cover preps, and in those cases you will of course be time sheeted. However, these do need to be pre-arranged, so if you haven’t already talked with me or Yen-Ling and think you will be owed a timesheet, please reach out soon.
Notes from the district:
- Interested in learning more about Restorative Practices? Here is a one page introduction. We have several staff members with recent RP training… let us know if you are interested in getting support in running a Restorative Circle in your classroom or with a student.
- OSU-Cascades is looking for Cooperating Teachers in ELA, SS, and Science for their Teacher Candidates next year. See the grid below for more details about subjects and timing. I have been sent cover letters and profiles for each of these candidates, so let me know if you’d like to learn more about any of these candidates and I will forward that info along!

A note of gratitude.
Friday’s Admin Appreciation Staff Crew moment was unexpected and so wonderful! I haven’t read your notes because I’m planning to space them out as I dig into each can… but I can say that, between that Staff Crew and my Baby Shower, y’all sure know how to make a guy feel seen and supported!
PS, let Elinor and I know if you’d like to join the new staff band, Soup Wagon 🤣
