SLC’s at end of week 9 (some thinking together needed here?)
Tri 2 ends 1 wk before Spring Break
includes 5 short weeks!!

Trimester 3:

12 weeks. 1 before Spring Break and 11 after
at RHS, “lose 1 week” for Intensives (May 9th – 12th)
also Smarter Balanced impacts this trimester (drafting this), esp at RMS

2023-24 INFO NIGHTS AND APPLICATIONS

The choice school application timelines are MUCH EARLIER this year due to a coordinated effort at the District level to clean up and align dates which, ultimately, will yield STAFFING PLANS and HIRING much sooner (April/May not June/July!)

Tues Jan 3rd – all choice school applications open – 3 WEEK WINDOW ONLY
Thursday January 12th – 1st RMS/RHS Info Night
Wednesday January 18th – 2nd RMS/RHS Info Night
Friday January 20th – Choice School Lottery Application Closes

Building our brand and building a strong waitlist at both schools is a priority for us as a school…. it is the best insurance policy we have when it comes to ensuring staffing. Because Realms HS is a new, growing, and small school, the District has allowed us to carry 2.4 extra teachers and 8 hours of extra classified staff ABOVE the formula used to staff other school. This “has allowed us to “extra staffing” is spread across Realms Middle AND High and has allowed us to create two SSC’s run by our awesome EA’s as well as staffing our elective program at the MS and MORE!

Roles & Responsibilities:

We will be conducting the RMS and RHS Info Nights on the SAME night here at Brinson! Here is how this rolls in terms of how we can all pull together to make this smooth:

Agenda – RW/ZH: Info Night Agenda Drafted (RW & ZH) and shared by __date__- (any input welcome)
Room Set Up and School “Beautification” – All Teachers/Staff: Due to the new timelines, this will need to be completed earlier than usual, like the week before and after Winter Break! More details to follow.
Night Of Staffing – Sign Up If You Can: This evening is not a part of the contract and therefore is not required. However, being a part of sharing the Realms vision and brand with our community and encouraging strong enrollment is an awesome opportunity! Teacher presence is a POWERFUL (critical!?!) part of this event. We would LOVE to have representation of MS and HS teams at each night. Please let us know!

Night of Student Ambassadors/Leaders: looking for staff who are interested in supporting this effort.

Friends of Realms and “Now Required” Site Council

Looking for 2 certified and 1-2 classified for meetings every other month. Meeting starts at 5:15 and you would only need to stay for 1st 30-45 minutes! Since this one is required by law, it will be paid!
