We are excited to share about the upcoming Virtual Community Resource Fair Thursday, May 27th 6-7:30 pm for Crook, Deschutes, Jefferson, Harney and Lake Counties. This is intended for families, guardians, self-advocates, educators and providers to come learn about their community resources supporting individuals with disabilities of all ages. Come learn about Central Oregon Disability Support Network (CODSN), Developmental Disability services (DD), Full Access Brokerage, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), & other resources in your community.

Calling all teachers!
Are you interested in getting your special education endorsement or know someone that is interested? Do you need professional development hours?
Starting this summer Bend-La Pine Schools is partnering with Lewis and Clark College to offer an endorsement program for special education. The program is completely remote starting this summer.
If you are a current BLP certified employee you most likely qualify for tuition reimbursement.
During the school year classes will be held Wednesday evenings.

NEUROSEQUENTIAL MODEL – Over the next several weeks, we will be highlighting Dr. Bruce Perry’s work, The Neurosequential Model in Education. Dr. Perry’s work is based on an understanding of the structure and sequential nature of the brain, which can help educators increase their students’ engagement in learning and mitigate behavioral problems. Listen as Dr. Perry describes the model and its significant impact on how we interact with our students, our own children, and each other.

Emotional Contagion: Neurosequential Network Stress & Trauma Series This 17-minute video discusses ’emotional contagion’ and talks about the power of calm. The concept of power differential is discussed in context of human interactions and discusses the importance of calm, regulated leadership in times of stress and distress.
